I've been playing on TAC server for ages now, as most of you probably know, been kicked a few times for swearing etc.. understandably However, although I 'think' I know what the rules are, it appears that they've changed. I thought that swearing (typing, or on mic), bypassing filter, being homophobic/racist, and generally insulting people because of their religion/creed/culture were all considered to be 'breaking the rules'. Apparently not. Also, I noticed that since the server has 32-player capacity, the welcome message says 'do not use mortars'. Obviously I completely understand this, as its crashed the server a few times before. Now, I've just come from a game where I have been called: '****ing ***got', 'silly ***', 'waster' (thats probably true), '***lord' etc.. There were many others, most of which refering to my ***ual preferences. Regardless of my ***ual preference, I find this behavior childish, offensive and frankly pathetic. On top of this, the said 'players' used mortars, told everyone to use them, typed in upper case for every single message, spammed the chat, and one even told me that they 'owned the server' and 'could ban'. That was when I asked what their problem was. I believe the full response was: 'I can say what I want, this is my server, you don't like it, you have two choices, PLAY OR **** OFF' - Not very pleasant. The last thing was, one player, on my team, constantly blocked me. It happens, but for an entire map, and when they say they're going to it, makes for a poor game. I realise you can't control everything that goes on in your server, and I don't expect much action. But I just thought I'd let you know that you server has gone terribly down hill over the past year. Of course, this isn't your fault, just the cowards that play on there, use aliases, pretend to be admin (with tags) and constantly whine about me whining (isn't this hypocracy?). I will mention names if needs be. Anyway, its been fun, I'll be open to suggestions on new games to play. Arnold. Ps. I noticed one guy called 'London bus bomber'. I know we all like to have unique names, but when some idiot tells me my country deserved to be bombed, when his didn't (we all know what countries) you must understand I get a little irrate. Especially when I knew someone killed in the bombing, on the same train as myself.
July 18, 200520 yr Author Just noticed you censor the swear-words in the forum, very wise. But when these were typed in-game, they were not censored. And the few that were replaced with '***' were quickly corrected with extra letters, hence bypassing the filter. One more thing, I was/am only talking about a few players here, 2 maybe 3. Pity they have to ruin the game for others, make many people leave, and generally seek attention.
July 18, 200520 yr Thanks for the info. My suggestion is to simply ask nicely if they would please stop doing such things. If they continue, decide if you need video recording started or if status and condump would be enough proof. Status 1st, then condump, which will show all players id's and screen text of last 15 mins roughly. Don't bother telling them what you're doing, just get the proof, attach the condump file to email and send to "contact us" at bottom of website. They'll get appropriate time of ban.
July 18, 200520 yr Especially when I knew someone killed in the bombing, on the same train as myself. wow man, im sorry to hear that. i knew Rapid had some people he knew near the explosion that hadnt shown up but i havent heard yet if theyre dead. but man, im sorry about that. if i see someone doing that again IF im in server ill get their ID and a condump right away.
July 18, 200520 yr I started server admin spy software. Saw what you talking about. Saw bad language and questionable names. Filter maybe down as one word came out that should have been filtered I think. Warned them. Took status of playernames and id's as well as screenshot of bad language. Posted it in admin forum so they can be watched for and filter looked at.
July 18, 200520 yr If you ever see anyone on saying that just like hagen said. Get the condump and send it to us. No one should never be saying anything about what country deserved to be bombed and so on. Sorry to here that you had a friend in there. I can't imagine what they are going through over there.
July 18, 200520 yr Author Thankyou for your responses, good to know you people are 'on the ball' regarding this sort of thing. I've calmed down since earlier, but its been building for a while, so something had to be said. I will in future follow your advice, status, comdump etc.. I'm sure sometimes I ask for it, anyone who's played with me knows how frustrated I get and of course thats my problem. I'll try to not type anything and just play (never been good at just shutting up and playing). Anymore 'disruptions' and I'll inform you, not that I'm a 'snitch'. Maybe its my age (feeling old now-days) but, like you, I think everyone should just enjoy the game. Regards, Arnold.
July 19, 200520 yr Isn't it funny how people won't follow rules when ask to NOT do something. This is what FORCES admins to place filters and such on servers, it's a shame that so many people just can't honor a simple rule.

Yet play on the server daily, should at least be privy to an explanation.... Rather than just being kicked repeatedly being left wondering what the hell has caused such a drastic change in behaviour. And kliff rimjob has been bothered like that before on the server more than once. I play 90% of the time under alias and say nothing because the second I put my name on I get flamed. I see plenty of things go on and say nothing. I think overlord steveo would do a great job being an admin. He's online during the off beat times and has a good head on his shoulders.

July 22, 200520 yr Wow, welcome to the internet! It's very big, you'll run into this all the time, get over it to be complety honest with you. You should be worried about more important things in life rather then some four letter word texts on your screen. I'm not trying to start a flamewar or insulting you, I'm just stating my opinion. If you let some person that lives many miles away that you don't even know who goes by the name Freshmeat get to you, well, that isn't right, and you shoudn't let them have that kind of power over you, Just disregard it. Sorry to hear about your mate on the train, that really sucks. I know a few people lost mates too. R.I.P to your friend.
