Just got the game, problems

First off, you're probably thinking "EA MAKING A GAME THAT HAS PROBLEMS IN IT, YOU'RE KIDDING!". I kid you not.

So I install everything in the box. Then I have to do the Radeon 9200 fix, because I have a 9200. Then I look for the latest patches. Which do I need??? Someone please help...

wow u havent played on a good squad with a couple of us huh wellsy. its a good game if u have a competent team with a competent opponent.

true dat.

My 9700 fireGL TL2 mobile runs the game mostly without a hiccup....

at lowest everything with view distances at 100% (essential, since the game doesnt

like to render things beyond 200 meters or so) and 1024 by 768 rs. Im surprised the

the 9100 or for that matter, the 9200 run it at all

As posted by me in other threads, i was surprised my systems ran the demo fine, after what i had been reading about it.

Some that posted probs have better pcs. Maybe the diff has been I did 1st fresh install of xp on wiped drive, changed it in control panel/system/ icon from default max appearance to max performance. Also learned hard way just before this with xp, to not be connected to net when you install it, turn off autoupdating, install good firewall and antivirus, then connect net and get all firewall/antivirus updates. (1st attempt with this and net connected from start turned out to have multiple spy/adware and viruses found from just testing browser on it's default msn web page which this great xp ctrl-altdel window showed as resource hogs). So get protected 1st, change default home page from internet properties in control panel to one you trust. Then update xp after other security software . XP looked fine but didn't put my nvidia control drivers in so run video driver cd to be sure best drivers in. Doulbe check in contol panel system device manager.

BF2 demo fine off and online so far up to 24 players total with 100 ping.

Sys specs are:

VIA mobo 133 AT "BUS" speed LOL (bus;-)

1.3 AMD cpu

512 mb regular 133mhz ram

nvidia 5200 xl 128 mb video card set for performance not appearance like xp

mobo sound chips

othe sys is same except asus mobo, intel p4 1.5, sb16 sound card.

Hope this helps someone decide or setup.

Wow. Hogan.

is everything off or on low?

Yes. No background operations running that not absolutley needed. I manually check updates. For gaming, nothing running but game and security stuff. Minimum video and sound settings fine with me if it means no lag.
Hogan your comp is worse than mine...and mines absolute pants.

Thanks for input. Gonna test demo little while yet to be sure. Gotta try more then 11-11 multi to be sure since i heard demo map is small compared to full version, which means full ia a little more system demanding ?
