August 17, 200520 yr Well i'm sure most of you have read about my mishap with the microphone, but my night just got alot worse. I was putting the chicken that was being cooked back in the oven cause it wasnt quite done yet, when all of a sudden at least a half gallon of the 400 degree (farenheit) juices from the chicken comes spilling out of the pan ALL OVER my leg and foot. It hurt sooo much, and now the skin on my foot/leg is all red and beginning to peel a little. So i'm just gonna sit here with the ice on it
August 17, 200520 yr oh my gawd. wouldnt that melt your skin? wait thats only if you keep it on there...damn thats gotta hurt...
August 17, 200520 yr Author well its about 2 hours after it happened, still hurts, just a steady throbbing pain. Ice makes it feel a bit better, but as soon as i take it off the pain comes back. The redness has mostly gone away
August 17, 200520 yr Author neg, no pics. I do not have a camera, and if i did i wouldve taken pics when it actually looked bad
August 17, 200520 yr Author update: I have just discovered some big blister-like bubbles on my foot, but theyre not really puffed up, just loose skin on my foot. It's kinda icky
August 17, 200520 yr Author well someone just told me that you are NOT supposed to put ice on it. God damnit all to Hell. So now i have a wet bandage wrapped around my foot and the thing is freaking throbbing. Toronto EMS Paramedic, seen as youre in the medical scene, do you know anything about burns and how to treat them. I'd say its a minor burn, but it hurts alot
August 17, 200520 yr blistering, sounds like hell of a burn treat it with some antibacterial spray first get a biggass bandaid to cover it. first put some neosporin or similar on the bandaid. avoid friction (just some advice from captain obvious) i think that might help you a little
August 17, 200520 yr Author Cool the burn. Immerse the burned part in cold water, or hold it under cold running water for at least 10 minutes. If the area is large, cover it with a folded sheet or towel soaked in cold water. Do NOT put ice on the burned skin. GOD DAMNIT! I wish i had known that when it happened, well i'm gonna go put cold water on it now. PS: it is officially classified as a first degree burn, for those who were wondering
August 17, 200520 yr My guess is its more than a 1st degree burn. A decent sunburn is 1st degree, and if there are blisters thats 2nd or even 3rd.
August 17, 200520 yr Author My guess is its more than a 1st degree burn. A decent sunburn is 1st degree, and if there are blisters thats 2nd or even 3rd. according to the website i visited "redness and sometimes blisters is a first degree burn" As requested, I took a picture with my brothers webcam. You can see one of the two blisters and most of the redness. It looks redder in real life. NO COMMENTS ABOUT MY TOENAIL. /monthly_06_2011/post-439-130810175561_thumb.jpg

So i'm just gonna sit here with the ice on it :flame: :flame: Sorry to hear that, it's also a good thing that you put some cold water on it. But don't suddenly immerse it or drench it with water. Step in to your bath tub and slowly pour a little cooler than room temperature (NOT ICE COLD) water on your foot. People say to pour ice cold water but it can damage the foot. Trust me, 10 years with St. John Ambulance, that can't go wrong. But first, make sure you don't apply pressure on it right away as well. Your injury might escalate and we don't want that happening right? *Hugs Boja* I hope you feel better as soon as possible. Any questions on first aid?, don't hesitate to post a reply. Cheers, Corporal Kevin Jong St. John Ambulance Canada West Toronto 005C
August 17, 200520 yr I've always associated blisters with second degree burns. Don't mess with the blister.
August 17, 200520 yr whatever You Do, Don't Pop The Blister!!!!!!!! After You Pour Just Cooler Than Room Temperature Water On The Burn, Apply A Band-aid Over The Blister. I Know It's Itchy And Fun To Scratch But Don't I Repeat, Don't Pop It!!!
August 17, 200520 yr Sorry about your foot. "Aaaaa, medic !!" (FA sound) :flame: As for messing up with that chicken and being member of KFC, that'll be 50 pushups. j/k.
