Posted August 28, 200520 yr Anyone following this storm? It is supposed to be one of the worst hurricanes ever. If anyone here lives in Mississippi or southeast louisiana...you better get ready. It is already a category 5 storm and getting stronger. they said on fox that the government is saying that 50% of all well built homes on coastal mississippi will have wall and or roof failures and that tall office buildings are going to sway a LOT and some even collapse. So, if you are in Katrina's immediate path, im prayin for you.

August 29, 200520 yr Author Wheat do yall live in west or east tennessee? or central? If yall are west-central then you will probably get a bit of wind and rain...I would say it will be pretty weakened by then though. My school is cancelled for tomorrow (Monday). We arent supposed to get too much rain/wind but I guess it is safety because the storm could change course. and its not gonna be bad enough to get all the way to Virginia....psha

August 29, 200520 yr i am somewhat a storm tracker and have been since was a little kid.... id say that this little storm is gonna turn NO, LA in to a soup bowl...... personally, im hoping it makes it to DE as a cat 1

August 29, 200520 yr *puts feet on on table and crosses hands* I'm sure there won't be anything coming to Canada. It's too far south to reach Canada for rain or high winds. Maybe cloudy skies in the southern parts of the southern provinces but that's it. BUT, I hope we get some crap here in Toronto since our city hasn't declared the state of emergency in ages. I like it when our city declares the state of emergency on public broadcasting though. lol BTW, has the state of NO declared the state of emergency?, If they did, I pray for all them with all my heart. August 29, 200520 yr I heard on CNN that at a hotel over there, a lady opened the door to her room, and the windows were open and the force of the wind shut the door, breaking her finger in half.

I'm not saying, "Man I hope it makes to Virginia as a cat 1". I'm saying, "Man, I hope a piece of the large rain system passed through Virginia so the 5 hour downpour will flood some of the smaller bridges, thereby cancelling school." And Ripper, man that is insane. That would suck so bad.
August 29, 200520 yr especially sice school started.i had 2 friends down in florida when it hit there. i live up in buffalo(new york) is 10-20 feet deep snow caused by blizzards. ever hear of blizz of '77?
August 30, 200520 yr no its quite possible toronto will experience some bad weather. chances are pretty good this time too, because its such a large storm, moving quickly. if it reaches lake ontario and slows down, we're screwed.

August 30, 200520 yr Well, we usually go to HQ first in Montgomery then they set us up in teams and send us to other parts of the state depending on where we are needed. They try not to get to many of us there at one time. All the past hurricanes I have had to go...I am hoping I get skipped over this time.
