The choice had to be made. FA is dead. For the moment there are still other FA servers out there. There are also other games our clan FA'ers can play like the new DOD:S or CS:S. If you can play FA then for the most part DOD:S and CS:S should be no problem. I myself was torn to try to keep FA alive but it has died. There is NO brining it back unless someone converts a mod similar to it in Source.

 

I know I have been quoted in saying the FA will be around as long as we have people to play it but the server is empty most of the time and in the last two weeks....... not many TAC people have been seen on it b/c there are not that many times that the server has people on it anyway.

 

Gator and I talked and with the donations we have we feel we can keep the BF2 server up and running at least to the end of the year. It was time to move on a server. If Gator had gotten the same server a little more than a month earlier. We could have saved $20/month. We have it now before they possibly raise the rates again.

 

I hope everyone that supports FA understands what is happening here.

 

Now there is an outside chance that the server company will load up FA for source just for us. Time will tell. This server is different than our other server. We can control it but have to pick games from THEIR main server selections. We download it and then run it. We can conceivably play just about any game they have if we want, when we want, but the primary ones will be the ones mentioned above. BFV included too. We do not have an option with this since BF2 Ranked servers have to be run according to EA's server agreement.

 

It has been a fun ride with FA. However. To finally support a different game with this type of server system will let us TRUELY be a Gaming Community. We will be offering more games for our members, followers, and visitors to play and enjoy TAC style. This will be an unprecidented step forward for all of us.

I actually haven't played FA for about 2 weeks now and I played tonight for 30 minutes. Nobody was on our server then me and Reed came over and it filled to 6 vs. 6. hardly worth keeping alive. yes, it was a great ride with many good times and more to come with BF2.

Awww...I will miss all of those great FA moments, like when I played my first TAC tourney (against stars I think) and we won! To me, no multiplayer online experience has compared to Firearms...I will be sad to see it go...=(

Yes Becca. I remember that. You did great in your first match. That was a lot of fun. I just got you in time to fill an empty spot and you did an outstanding on the spot job. I think the map was Durandal. I have many a memory like that one.

I'm gonna miss FA even though that's my favourite and only game I have. I guess that means that I gotta fork out about another CAD $120.00 to get BF2 and half-life 2. I guess it's worth it, but I don't know how I'll like it since I've been so used to just playing Firearms. In terms of CS:S, I don't have that because I don't have half-life 2. I will try to get those 2 games ASAP. *cries* Also, when is the last FA match for the <TAC> members? I hope it will be soon.

FA was fun bout 2 years ago or so, when you could join a server and have fun without everyone bitching at you and complaining etc etc. I have already uninstalled FA bout a week or so ago, and play css and dod/ dod:s when it comes out.

"Roger that". Well said Gator and Mac. When I feel like FA, I'm sure someone may try their own FA server when available servers are gone. Plus I should check in with friends made in the [MB] clan server.
