September 28, 200520 yr Do you like Iron Sights or not? I DON'T. I think in this age of gaming they could actually put ACCURATE Xhairs on a weapon not these big block iron sights. I hate them but do you. If you like them, why? and how the hell do you aim with them? It's one main reason why I will not pick the G3 whatever it is this time for my unlock when I reach 10G. I picked it before at 1000 and hated the sights so this time at 1000 I took the Jackhammer with a beautiful yellow crosshair.
September 28, 200520 yr It all depends on the possibility of changing it- like in FA. If you can, it's ok to me. If you can't.. well, I'm afraid there would be some hax sooner or later that would allow you to change it. Like the one which changes a color when you're aiming at the enemy (it'd become red then) or your teammate (it becomes blue).
September 28, 200520 yr I mainly use the assualt class with the usmc so i almost always use the m16. If you just run around shooting with it when its on 3 - round burst you wont always get kills or even hit the person. I find im always looking down the sights even when the person is fairly close to me. It's just so much more accurate and easier to hit the person. Especially if your lying prone somewhere, its not too hard to pick off lots of people as they go bye. This is in terms of bf2, dont play too many other games.
September 28, 200520 yr The crosshairs are great- In BF2, you use them to gain a large accuracy boost, without them, you won't hit nothin long range. And in DoD:S, they work wickedly well too They're great for medium-long range. So I don't know why you hate em, Klink..
September 28, 200520 yr I like them just because they give that next step of realism. It's also alot more fun to mow a guy down when you're looking through the sites.
September 28, 200520 yr I like them just because they give that next step of realism. ... which greatly compensates some unrealistic features as for example: the ability to fully repair (from a backseat by max 3 engineers) a flying chopper...
September 28, 200520 yr I have and always have liked iron sights. I think that they are fun to use, albeit a bit tough to use sometimes. But I used to play the UT2k4 mod Red Orchestra where there ARE no crosshairs, just ironsights to help you aim. I just like the realism I suppose.
September 28, 200520 yr Author I can't aim with them very well that is my problem. It's always a guessing game.
September 28, 200520 yr in bf2 with my pkm with out the ironsights i couldn't hit someone standing right in front of me.but with them i can take down whole squads like it anit no thang. so yes,i like them they make killing fun
September 28, 200520 yr it honestly doesn't matter to me that much. If you want to learn how to use them. Join a pistol only server if they're still around. That will teach you how to use the iron sights fairly quickly. Otherwise just cover half the enemie's head with the sight and you should hit him.
September 28, 200520 yr I voted yes beacuse i rather enjoy an iron sight here and there because its a refreshing dip in the FPS genre as I am used to nothing but reticles.
September 28, 200520 yr ... which greatly compensates some unrealistic features as for example: the ability to fully repair (from a backseat by max 3 engineers) a flying chopper... *sigh* A game doesn't have to be 100% realistic or 100% unrealistic. Don't make stupid comments like that.
September 28, 200520 yr I can't aim with them very well that is my problem. It's always a guessing game. lolright click>put end of ironsight point (that is in the middle) over or just under enemy>left click
September 28, 200520 yr *sigh* A game doesn't have to be 100% realistic or 100% unrealistic. Don't make stupid comments like that. and you'd better start using your 15-years-old brain (???) instead of your 'fap-fap-fap' ending because I've never said game has to be 100% realistic or not. [EDIT PART I] Ripper, I'd like to propose you a truce. You won't comment my posts like above, I won't comment yours. AFAIR I've never carried any personal attack on your person, though I might be wrong. [EDIT PART II] To explain my point. If it's a game and we all agree that there are some 'crosshairs' in the middle of the screen (which is probably one of the mostly unrealistic features ever. IRL I've never seen many weapons with crosshairs in the middle of the horizon showing you where you are aiming. In other words, if you want to shoot someone you need to put a weapon against your shoulder and use ironsight or scope) we should agree that someone might be disappointed that his/ her ingame weapon doesn't have a crosshair 'in aiming mode' but some 'iron sight'.
September 28, 200520 yr oh pwnt. =p. anyway, i love the iron sights. i hardly ever miss when using them. like if i pick up a G3(which will be my next unlock), ill ironsight it, and then just full auto blow away any thing that comes at me. only downside, is that it has only 4 extra mags of ammo and it only carries 20 in one mag.

September 28, 200520 yr I hate them in DoD:s because I cant aim for crap with them. Plus u move slow as molasis while using them.

September 28, 200520 yr if you dont like them, dont use them. nuff said, if you want to take the zoom but lose the speed of movement its all about if losing something and gaining something else works for you. if that combo doesnt work for you dont use it. i can aim just as well without but ironsights helps when tracking guys who are running or if its really far away
September 28, 200520 yr The Iron Sights r good to use with a pistol and any other gun unless u got a shotgun then if u have a shotgun u better be good with a pistol. i myself unlocked the jackhammer and the only way to aim with that is try to get the person in the middle of the yellow circle and fire away.
September 29, 200520 yr I don't use them because A: The crosshairs are already accurate & B: I like to walk at more then .02 miles per hour.
September 29, 200520 yr well since i have come from Americas Army i like the iron sights. it helps even out the playing field. it also helps with the touch shots, like getting a head shot. P.S. klink justline up the persons head with the front post and use bursts of fire
September 29, 200520 yr Even though I votes Yes, it's more a love & hate relation ship I have with them On the love side we have the 'realizme factor' and accuracy bonus (assuming this is true) On the hate side we have the not really sure what to line up with the enemy, the transition from and to it (not too bad) and the fact that each is different for each weapon, making it hard to remember what to line up. I don't mind the slower movement, since when aiming (using them) you aren't focusing on movment but on your aim (duh obvious ) Also Klink, just start an single player server stand a bit away from a wall and aim at something and see where the bullet will hit, at least that way you'll find out what to line up Cya, [DIAL]Doc
