Lately (past two weeks) I have been getting the "There was a problem with Internet Explorer and was shut down" and then the "Send/Don't Send" thing. Problem is, it was working fine (is that a problem :? )Also I keep getting icons on my desktop which are links to Ads. I want both of these things fixed. Any suggestions??

virus scan would be the first thing to do and then i would scan for spyware with programs like adaware or sbybot. windows updates maybe the cause becuase i had similar trouble.

Ya i have to run a virus scam and defragmenter on my computer every month to keep it up and in shape or it starts to have errors

My Explorer stopped working just a few days ago.I used a floppy and typed in under an "a" propmt in DOSa:/scanreg /restore "there is a space after reg"I went back a couple of days since my System restore does not work.All is well.
