Bunnyhopping and prone jumping

Featured Replies

Naw he's the Admin, so he bans 'em. But my cure is the nade laucher. "Dodge this &*(%^%&)_(#!"

I'd like to know, Gator, why I'm a novice shooter if I'm always saving you? :D

hmm, nade launcher, use lame against lame...

personnally, I don't see it as a big problem. If you're good enough, they're not annyoing since you'll get them in the first couple of shots, or just keep following them.

I only bunnyhop (if 1 or 2 jumps is considered that) and insta prone when 1)I'm getting shot from behind (which is dishonorable in the first place...mechwarrior2)

and 2)When I know a guy is right around the corner.

I didnt know that you could do that prone jumping thing, that is pretty funny.

Though I dont play BF2 other games are subject to bunny hopping. I personally dont care about bunny hoppers because I can take em down anyways.

As for that prone thing I think it is wierd. I think it is ok to jump and then prone in midair cuz that is just like a dive. But jumping while prone is crazy. I have never seen that before, but I would think it would be about as easy to kill as a bunny hopper.

A few intersting things I saw in that EA thread :D

1st a guy from mygot is defending bunny hopping :D

2nd someone pointing out issues with hitboxes when doing this. Now if that is true it would explain the problems I have killing these bunny hoppers :D

Just my 2 cents,

Hey JPennStar, I actually use the nade launcher and blast them off the face of the earth. :D

That video is VERY FUNNY!!! Especially the music gives it the comedy edge.

As far as bunny hopping or prone jumping.... its the same as was with most 'exploits' in FA. They are part of the physics of the game. It may have not been the programmers intention to do that and as such, until programmer fixes this, the fact remains.

And for 'lame against lame' sentence... its not the first time i have encountered words, that nade launcher in CQB is 'frowned upon'.... which is strange to me, becouse even IF the game doesnt entirely simulate real world, its all about combat and warfare. And if i were on the battlefield, i would do EVERYTHING to SURVIVE and KILL those, that threaten my existence. Basic behaviourism. Face it, war is about killing and winning, not about fair play. The losing side, cant even voice their complaints - they're all dead so the truth is on the victor's side. That would be embarrasing, if in the last spark of dying thought, One would think that the other side exploited/cheated.

If You play warfare, treat it like warfare.

The only time that this Prone jumping will help a player is if he's being sniped, or if you're shooting him at longer ranges.

I usually don't have any problem shooting a ******* that does this cute little dance of lame, I've even knifed a couple of "1337 Bad*****es" while they were doing it.

I just say "keep jumping, it makes you an easier target" after I kill them and sometimes it works and they actually stop doing it, and sometimes they babble some Nonesence and keep thinking they're cool.

Don't count on EA or Dice ever doing anything about this, Bf1942 and DC and I would presume BF:V allowed you to do exactly the same thing.

In Bf1942 and DC when you saw a person doing it, they actually did make themselves a bigger target, the hitboxes for being prone in 1942 and DC didn't switch untill the player had been prone for about .5 seconds, and when you do this prone jump bouncy bs, it never has time to switch into the Prone Hitbox, it keeps calculating that the player is still standing, does this explain why you would be able to be shot while you were proning behind a sandbag or a window, yuppers.

What blows my mind about the whole thing is this, they actuall went through the trouble of making a block for sprinting that doesn't allow you to sprint untill you've built up about 15% of your stamina back up, but they didn't add jumping or changing stances a factor in that stamina. Jumping burns stamina the same as sprinting, but you can continue to jump as many times as you want once you're stamina is gone = BIG MISTAKE.

Its likely to be one of those long standing bugs that nobody seems to care about or notices, untill a large group of people complain and explain to them that this is an exploit of the game and needs fixing.

I look at it like this, How long has Strafing into a wall (Wall Sprinting - HL & HL2), or Crouch Bouncing (tapping crouch fast so that your player model bounces off the ground) been an issue for the Halflife mods and games?

Forever, untill the Mod teams (DOD 2.1 & DOD-S, and FA 2.8 when Mazor fixed crouch bounce) actually did something about it to dissallow it and write the code to fix this problem.

The people that made the game need to know the problem exists, and have enough people complain about it to make it a worthy problem of being fixed.

Maybe you guys should stop bitching here, and post a Petition in the EA or BF2 forums, where it would actually make a difference.

I only do this action if I am getting shot at and trying to cap a flag. If I feel the shots or hear them I start flopping around and it works well for a time, at least until I get the flag then bail out of there.

I have trouble killing someone if they are prone and I run up to them and shoot them while I am standing. Seems to take more than the normal amount of lead. Maybe I suck but that's another topic.

What really gets me most though is all the CONSTANT insta proning and jumping in the air, rolling, and proning and owning me. LOL. This must be the FA player in me coming out because I can't figure out why nobody will shoot you standing up even if you meet face to face around a corner the guy prones. I hate it. You go to shoot and they are kissing your boots. What's up with that? I know this isn't a problem with the game it's just an annoying aspect of it to me.

Nice post Mister D. I didnt bring this up to have a whine fest, I was just curious what everyones feeling on this was. And if you look at the link to the ea forums there are a LOT of people complaining about it so hopefully ea will take notice. BUt on a good note I did realize that the DOA-12 and grenade launchers do wonders against that kind of stuff. I was just playing last night and I came around a corner and this guy prones and unloads a full clip, barely hits me. Then he starts jumping-proning like in the video. He looked like he was having an epileptic fit. Anyways I let him do it for a few seconds as I just stood there then I unloaded a few shots of the DAO-12 and it was nighty night bunny boy. :D :o
As General Patton said:

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

sry for being a fun killer (again) but General Patton was wrong. The best example is Leonidas, King of Spartans.
:/. i dont really mind either of them. i do the bunny hopping when im being shot at by a sniper and i prone when im just being shot. but the combo of PRONE JUMPING is what i hate.

..... but if Leonidas died at Thermopilae (which is implied), then technically he DIDNT win the war. His succesor did.
