I'm mostly interested in this my self, because even though it is anoying (I made this post because I was realy irk'ed off of getting spawn raped) It is part of the game. i usualy try and not just sit there and camp out at their spawn all day, although if they do it to me first, it's all on man .
October 13, 200520 yr the difference between this and firearms though is that you have the option of spawning somewhere else or having the oportinity to go and get another spawn point

You don't want to open that can of worms Ky Here is my point: Normal, thinking (?????????????????????????????) beings put in tight situation would start solving the problem and not cry 'lame' and wait for some 3rd power (whether it be admin or mommy) to solve it for them. Ky you seem to miss my point, it's not that it's a tight situation. I'm all for fighting and solved a lot of hopeless situations in BF2. But in this case you can't do a thing. You know why, because the second you spawn you're dead. Now tell me how a normal, thinking being would try to solve that? And no there is no other flag to spawn at ether... Good night, [DIAL]Doc
October 13, 200520 yr I just plain hate it on the gulf of Oman map, the MEC get reamed with base camping, if they had 2 more AA turrets and that stupid oil rig was not on fire, it would be ok, but right now, its ridicules, 2 planes can keep everything in that base locked down. If it is the last flag, I'm cool with it, it's where the enemies are spawning so kill them, but if there are other open flags, it's totally lame. It's just like the lame people from 1942, who Para shoot onto the carriers and hide way up where you can't climb with a rocket launcher and snip planes as they take off. Totally lame.
October 13, 200520 yr Y'all pretty well covered this topic. Sometimes not so pretty in game. Like real war games. If only war was just games to decide things. This came up often in FA. Concerns that if lots of reins and only base to spawn, is it good-gaming to wait and kill spawners. Realistically, if a team fails to have proper base perimiter defense and ground or air spec ops to atleast harass their base radar and arty, maybe they deserve the fast death. Gamewise, as long as teams are even, I think maybe anything goes. Because their are ways to spot enemies, choose accordingly what may work best, etc. If you have to dig in and try to pick them off, bad for you and good for them. Again, if teams have been balanced number wise, then the smarter team rules rightfully, I think ? I only feel "cheated" when I see they have like 4 more players on their side and plenty of reins both sides.

You don't always spawn at the same place at any given flag. There are usually 2-3 maybe more spawn positions that you will randomly spawn to. TFD

I played a lot of demo= i played a lot of gulf of oman; hell, i even camped sometimes at the top of the oil rig or that big tank. Because I'm not Ky, there's no need to reply

On Oman, you also spawn next to the radar, and in front of the bunker at the entrance to the base, and maybe down near where the chopper spawns on the 64 player version.. THen if, playing the 64 player version, there is a multitude more.. lol TFD

October 21, 200520 yr It's a part of the game but sometime it's lame when a guy wait you to respawn for to kill you on your back: was killed 20 times in this situation last night (finish the map with 0, 0, 0, 20, 130(ping)! + on another map, one player TK me 2 times and lot of time on other players for to keep the heli each time for himself only and no wanted gunner with him: I do to prevent him that TK is a bad part of the game in the TAC servers and conduct you to your ban: he stopped the TKs and let me come gunner with him! Perhaps he was scaried if I will push the "punish" button for each "crash" who will kill me in heli, but I never punished someone for this = at my own risk when I go with a good or bad "pilot"... Also yesterday, when I was in sniper, someone stepped on my clays and "punished" me for involontairy TK: if they are blind and can't see a clay or a mine on the ground because they rush with the head in the air, there is their own fault, not mine! When I step myself on a team clay, I never punish the player who put it in the ground: I can jump it but most the time it kill me: it's my fault not at the guy who put this clay and I don't punish him.... I think some have bad temper or can't show that there are best than other lamers! Egidio.
October 21, 200520 yr I voted depends because it depends if the base is capable or not. I was on a european server this afternoon and they had a rule of no base camping the non-capable bases apart from the demo the arty and the like. Seemed to work fine, but they had a few admins there just to police it. It's got it's up and downsides. i agree
October 21, 200520 yr born to die has made some good points,people when you step on your team mates clay or mine or just with out thinking run in front of say a pkm going off from your own team.don't punish those are your mistakes not your team mates fault.and i whole heartly think we should disincourage people from doing these things.not to mention (cuz it should go without saying)don't prone out side of where people spawn just to buff your score up if your going to take the flag then take it,otherwise move on.

I never punish for a claymor or mine TK. Now, if I'm involved in turning a flag, and we've got it gray, and a pilot comes zooming in and nukes the whole place, I have to think about it a bit. Pilots need to check their mini-maps before dropping their loads on flags... TFD

November 2, 200520 yr Dude, we are playing a "realistic" WAR game. There are NO rules in WAR! Therefore, i think it is ok, i dont like it either, but its part of the game. Its also a lot of fun, if u camp on the carrier and try to hide. Its so much fun.

I sometimes have fun trying to sneek onto their carrier as spec ops, take out their commander's uav and scan toys, then hide and ask my commander for supplies so i can do it again if they repair. But "discression is the better part of valor" regarding base owning. So much to consider. If teams badly unbalanced but still rein tickets then I personally would try to not make their unfair GAMEplay more unfair. Not easy answer due to many variables. Kind of a personal or server game rules choice i guess as to what you think is ok. If teams even, i feel it's up to each side to ensure proper defense or not, of bases.
