I can afford it now, I can go buy 10 of them if I want but I am not going to because I totally disagree with the approach to this expansion.

Now, I see a future problem with these night maps. Eventually servers will get tired of the same old maps and start adding these and then we original BF2 players won't be able to play or will be in the dark.

 

Good thing (=A=) has two servers going but then that divides everyone once again and the BF2 server is near empty.

First of all, very nice words impact2oo, I agree with you 110%. Its nice to see sombody elese feels the same as me.

 

And now, for all you whiners. Lets get a few facts straight. EA Games does not make any games whatsoever. They are a publisher, like any book publisher. Dice owns the game, and EA has the sole authority to package, advertise, and distribute it.

 

People who bought SF, are fans of BF2, and simply wanted to play what seemed to be a pretty cool addition. It is a great game, by the way, and is worth every cent I spent on it. If you haven't tried it, you have no room to comment on it.

 

As far as the weapons go, it gives some players a few unlocks from SF. It does not give you tear gas while playing BF2, nor does it give you NVGs or a gas mask. All it gives you is a few different (but not overpowring as people claim) weapons and flashbangs.

 

I don't know if this was really intentional on the part of DICE, as they had an emergency patch on the day of release. I think a future patch will prevent the use of the wepaons, but I don't really know.

 

Here is the only problem I see. Because the game is actually part of BF2, servers can now run BF2 maps, as well as SF maps in the same map cycle. The problem here is that players who do not have a copy of BF2:SF installed in their BF2 folder will be immediately ejected from the server. WE WILL NOT BE DOING THIS AT THE ARMORY.

 

Lastly, people buy and play other games all the time, so thats nothing new, and will always happen. I understand about your concerns about dividing the clan, and I can tell you right now that we are 100% BF2 "original", and only will only play SF occasionally as a side game.

I don't have any problems with the addon, or even if they let the people that spent the extra $30 have all the cool new toys when everyone else has the same old stuff. My only complaint is that I don't have a local profile anymore, and I can't create a new one since installing the 1.12 patch. EA's "support" tells me I need to buy SF to fix the problem. That's just not right.

lol, new fangled. XD. i havent heard that word in a while.

for all who haven't bought the expansion yet; it's so worth it. playing last night on Shaq. city map. a full squad was about to cap tv station. I threw a flash bang into the room and tore them up with F2000 bullets and gernade launcher. just those lil moments is something to smile about. not to mention you also get 8 new maps. in time I'm sure dice will have patches to fix the bugs now. personally I think Dice is overwhelmed on how well BF2 has done and can't handle "keeping up to date" with the game bugs and so forth. with the help of EA techs they will fixs these bugs and glitches by christmas.

 

I know how annoying it is that these glitches ruin or c4 kamikazee's ( loading a copter with c4 to blow up gator, k2, and flipster then suiciding to my own death cause the c4 has a glitch in it) yes just makes u want to apply for anger management, but with a lil time Dice will fix that. ahh the memories... lol

 

but all in all as I said before those fustrations are worth it when playing among friends and screaming into ventrello ...lol

I'll paly normal BF2 with you. my objction to the expansion is that the orginal game isnt fixed yet, the AA is completly useless, C4 doesnt alwase go off, and the red name bug. these are alll thing that need to be fixed. inface with the new patch for spec-ops i now have a massive graphics glitch that when ever an explosion goes of near me my screen freezes for about 30 -45 seconds wherei cant seee any thing, i can nmove and shoot but i cant see where im going or what im shooting @. I've had to turn all of my settting to low to minimize this. (it's down to 3-4seconds now)

lately instead of seeing friendly as red glich i see the bad guys as friendly.and then when they kill me it says team kill but don't give me the option for punish.last night that happened to me and it only did it when i seen gator,so i switched teams and then he had his name in red.dum dum
