Does anyone on here have XM radio? If so do you listen to it online?

 

I found this VERY cool program if you do. You can add songs to your preset to auto-tune or just notify you. It tell you what is play on all the other channels also. It also makes a sig for you if you want that you can use in the forums. It will show what song you are listening to and what XM channel it is on. Very cool IMHO if you are and XM person.

If you have subscribed to XMradio for your car or what not the online service if free. They also have the online service for a fee if you dont have their regular service.

 

I said I would never own it but got it last year and now I cant stand to listen to regular radio.

my dad has Sirius. he says its almost the same as XM.

my dad just bought a portable xm for his car, he could listen to that thing all day if he could.

I'm thinking either to get XM or Sirius. Both are pratically the same from the looks of it.

XM offers about the same content minus Howard Stern for less. That is about it...XM has cools tools people have made for it also.

 

I have a friend who has Sirius but the only thing I like about it is the way they categorize. Not worth the extra cash IMHO.

They have something I had been looking at for work. Also check the link I give to sharp65 to signup(free) then make sure you download the tool I listed. XaMp is what I am using to show what songs I am listening to in my sig.

If you dont want to be tied to your computer get a myfi...I just bought one this week after I found a SWEET deal on them. Normally they runn for 200-299 but I got mine for $89 after rebate! The $50 mail in rebate is only good for people who buy one from certain sites and ends Dec 31.

 

It comes with home/car adapters, remotes, belt clips...ect ..ect

tell him to signup for the online access. All he has to do is get the radio ID off his radio and enter that and some other info on the xmradio page.

 

You can listen even while your dad is listening in the car and it is free.

I had a skyfi 1 that broke about 2 months before the skyfi 2 came out, so I bought a replacement skyfi 1, then had to upgrade to the 2 for the 30 minute buffer and the cool blue display (the amber was killing me in my truck, since everything else in there was blue )

I have the roady2 and will have my myfi tomorrow! I am tracking fedex now...I cant wait!

 

I wanted the Skyfi2 because of the full screen where the roady doesnt show the whole song name and artist at the same time. What is this 30 minute buffer you speak of?

The buffer holds the last 30 minutes of whatever you were listening to, so you can rewind. Very neat. The MyFi has the same thing I think, but probably more than a measly 30 minutes

 

A friend of mine bought the Roady and hated it, so I never even considered it. I also had 2 home kits, 1 car kit, and the boom box for the skyfi1, so I had to get the 2 so I could use all the old stuff.

I will most likely sell my roady if anyone wants it. It has the remote, car adapters, and even a home adapter.

What I am going to do is simply hook up my iPod and throw it on shuffle, because it's guaranteed to be what aI want to listen to, AND I don't have to pay anything on top of what I already use daily.

Dont worry it will not mess with your scanner. I have it in my work car and it is full of electronics and no problems..

You must have an account with XM or signup for one. IF you do not have XM in your car already they charge for service. If you have XM already the online version is free.

...I had Sirius, but that got cancelled...Looks like jamming to the Shoutcast Radio on WinAmp will be all I get! Oh, well, the Trance and Ambient Electronic stations on there pawn.

I'm good with my ipod...pay a little more but no subscriptions/monthly payments and choose the favourite songs that YOU want and no commercials too..
