based on your readings and understanding about the Battlefiled 2 patch version 1.2 patch, how effective do you think the patch will be?

i like all of the ideas of the changes, where they are trying to go, so i voted outstanding, but ill have to see for myself how they really turn out. 1 night after the patch i may completely change my mind.

I'm all for being able to shoot down choppers with land based rockets but now every new player and his cousin will be standing on the chopper pad waiting because they are supposed to be easier to fly also.

I look forward to this patch release. I vote outstanding.

it looks good overall, not too pleased will all the changes but it will do.

I am excited but also thinking it will be a big let down b/c its EA after all!!!!!!!

Oh yeah btw all the sniper rifles kill with one shot to the head already. Nothing new there. The M95 should just kill with one shot to the chest.

But yeah StateCop EA is fixing the sniper rifle and giving another unlock.

There was a video on the net a while back with a sniper in Afganistan shooting people on a hilltop with a .50 cal. He was shooting people in the legs, arms, whatever, and all you saw was body parts flying off and almost total carnage. There is NO way a .50 is NOT a 1 shot 1 kill weapon.

 

NOONE can do a 1 shot kill with a .50 in BF2, its not set up that way. A head shot from any sniper rifle takes a full health meter down to 2 bars. So as long as someone else took a shot at them, or they lost 2 bars of health before you killed them, you cannot get a 1 shot kill.

 

Same goes with the tanks. I did find the "sweet spot" under the turret on the M1A with a Tow missle, once, and I'm sure he had hit a few bumpy roads along the way.

Yes it should, a .50 caliber AP round will go through a manhole cover and still keep going with some force. And manhole covers are like 1"- 1 and 1/2" thick, or at least able to puncture tires... And also if hit in the right spot you should be able to take out a jet engine... oh the possibilities.

yea the new sniper rifle is supposed to be the awp, but knowing ea/dice i wouldnt get my hopes up. the m95 was a joke.

M95 is an Armored Glass breaker. Thats it.

I don't know what to expect from this patch. I am looking forward to it, and yet i'm not. I said this in an earlier post and I'm sticking with it. This patch is either going to make or break the game for people. In one of Gator's post about the interview they had with the guy from BF2, he said something about how they are not always going to be supporting BF2. No offense to anyone of them (well maybe a little), but they are not really supporting it much right now. Plus, with how I felt towards the last patch. Getting all excited and then end up in dissapoint meant for the most part. I don't see this one being any different. Deli and I agreed on this, they go from one extreme to another. Like black and white. No gray area to work with. Another thing I would like to know is.....WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GET THEIR IDEAS ON WHAT TAKE FROM THE GAME AND WHAT TO PUT IN THE GAME. THEN WHAT CHANGES IN THE GAME...... Their answer is the community. WHAT COMMUNITY ARE THEY LOOKING AT?!?!?!?!? Honestly, I do read forums quite a bit. I've never read about some of the things they are doing in this patch in any forum. So it just confuses the hell out of me when they say they listen to us, but then do things i've never read a single complaint about.

 

I don't mind playing the game right now the way it is. Yes it does piss me when my tow missile goes through the side of the tank/apc/any driveable veichle. If they could only fix the hit detection, and make it more consistent. That I would love. Otherwise I wish they would come out with smaller patches that don't try to "fix" the game all at once, so they can see how "whatever they change" plays in the game. That way if something starts going wrong they know they made a mistake and can easily fix it. I don't know, when I get on this subject it just feels like I can keep on talking/typing about it because EA/DICE just really perturbs me. I'll stop blabbing.

I dont really know what to expect with this patch. Im hoping for the best but i guess we will see. The thing that bothers me the most is the time they are taking to release it. It was like 2 weeks ago when they said it would be any day and they were working on the final touches, but still nothing......Im sure the patch will fix alot of issues but also leave alot unresolved such as the red tag bug. But at any rate i guess i cant say much about it until i try it for myself. Just hope for the best:)

IN BF2 silly...in Real life the M95 would go through the glass, the head of the person on the other side, through the seat and most of whatever else is on the other side, and clear down another block or 2.

 

AS far as in game.....I can count on 1 hand how many helo pilots I've got out of a chopper. I've shot 1 pilot from a jet. Wasnt even aiming for him, nor saw the jet...although I wish I had the screenshot of him saying..
