Featured Replies

i just got an outline for my final exam in late january covering ALL 13 chapters! (midterms) and this is how it goes ;) ..

Final Exam - SBI-4U1 (Science of Biology, Grade 12 University Preparation)

Time: 3 Hours

Marks: 191 Marks which consists of:

PART A:

All one mark each:

- 81 Multiple Choice

- 9 Fill in the blanks

- 71 Matching

PART B:

- 5 Short Answers --13 Marks

- 2 Problem solving Questions -- 10 Marks

- 1 Essay -- 7 Marks

So after some small calculations, it will be approximately 1.061 minute per question.. holy cow!!! ;)

good luck on the finals. my last exam is math on thursday. 50 multiple choice, no calculator allowed. ya bio was easy for me but im takin physics next semester and im worried, i was never good in math. but again good luck on the finals ;)

Have a strategy going into the test...

The key is not to waste time on any single question. If you are up against the clock figure out the questions that give you the biggest bang for the time spent. It looks like about 84% of the test are quick objective questions and about 15% are questions that need more work. What I would do is read the lengthy questions first and determine if you can answer them quickly.

Option 1 - If the essay section is in fact easy then you can buy back a lot of time on the test by speeding through this essay section. This way when you near the end in a time crunch you can be kicking out the easy objective stuff and have less pressure. At the very end you can also fill in the squares with easy guesses rather than having to do an essay at the end.

Option 2 - If the essay portion is very hard and a time waster then hit the objective portion banging out all the easy questions you can to get the guranteed highest grade to can. If you ace the objective portion then you'll be looking at a B. Then hit the essay and try to capture as much of the last 15% of the test as you can.

To study create flash cards of all the material.

Last words of wisdom - BE THE BALL SPALDING....Good luck. ;)

Okay.. thanks for the studying strategies Mercury.. also.. i forgot to tell you that i will be getting a "study sheet" alongside of my exam.. That has not yet been distributed out yet nor has the schedule for the exam come out yet but all i know is that the exams for my school start next wednesday.. very pressuring in time right now eh?

edit: and physics is easy. the whole key to physics i knowing where to put what numbers in the formulas(and when to use what fomula). after that is all multiplication, division, addition and subtraction. i loved thermodynamics:D

my math final was 4 hours 12 questions ...

That's nothing. My college Philosophy final was 3 hours --- one question.

I didn't finish.

Hey Medic! That sounds like a doozy of an exam. I don't think I give exams that difficult in my class. If I can help you study in any way just give me a im or pm or whatever. I will be glad to go through it with you! Good luck my friend. I am glad its not chemistry or physics.......phht!
