List your system specs.

If you dont have the system to push it. It wont really be worth it.

Amd athlon 3700+

1.5gb ram

gigabyte nforce4 ultra-sli

250gb hd@7200rpm

Sapphire radeon x800gto2

if youre doing a bios flash from a floppy....dont interrupt the flashing for any reason, not even death. else your card will be worthless :peace:

while youre at it though, you should OC that 3700. ive seen quite a few hit 2.7-2.8ghz on stock cooling.

You should backup your old GPU bios just to be safe. I modded the same card a few weeks ago in less than 5 minutes and everything went without a hitch so you shouldn't have a problem. It never hurts to be careful though.

thats why i want to do it soon while i have 7 days return/exchange no questions asked:cool: ...as far as oc'ing the processor i wouldn't know where to start

Man if you dont know where to start with a Proc. Dont do a videocard.

They will be able to tell that you tried to flash it.

I would not do this if I were you.

Overclocking is easy like others said but that is all I would do.

I did something similiar with my 9800Pro to a 9800XT, and also did a similiar task to a friends X800Pro to X800XTPE. It's not really all that hard to do, though there is a risk involved. As others have said, if youre not even familiar with overclocking any part of the system I would not recomend a flash.

Process wise it's easier than overclocking, though the risk is higher and its generally considered a more advanced form of tweaking.

i trust you are experienced at this because i am an anti-overclocker if one can't afford replacing overheated parts or system. :D
holy cow man, 2.9ghz? what fsb/multi are you at? and truthfully, as long as your memory is at 200mhz, you dont really need to upgrade it. yes, faster memory will give you more bandwidth, but youre talking like $250 to go just a tiny bit faster.

its funny i took the gigabyte board back and got the asus a8n32-sli deluxe

its a much faster board but i scored lower on the 3dmark 03.... :D

any way i am going to finish my adjustments then ill post my 05/06 scores hopefully they score higher than i think they will.....i wonder if a 7800 would be better than my little radeon....then i could get 2 and run em sli style:peace:

or i could go crazy and shell out for this one..

but we wont go there i may just see about returning this x800gto2 and pay the extra 200 for the 7800gt im sure the results would be worth much more with only one of those than what i hae anyway
