March 5, 200620 yr Since my BF2 is broken and I don't feel like investing any more time right now to fix it, I need to feed my addiction. I was actually thinking of loading up BF 1942 and reliving the beginning. I didn't think anyone played 42 any more but I just went to the 42 website and there are 2600+ players online. Anyone want to get it on? I'm loading it now. Two words..... El Alamein! WOOT!

March 6, 200620 yr Author In true EA style, there's a 267MB patch that has to be downloaded. Just an FYI.
March 6, 200620 yr I have it installed I'm not sure if it's all updated, I guess I'll have to check it.
March 6, 200620 yr theres a 1.6update(275mb) and a 1.6-1.61update(6.5mb) updates needed to play also make sure you have disk 1 in drive your screen will just go black and then crash to desktop if you have disc 2 in drive. we all had a couple crash to desktops but K2, Flippy, Bones and myself had a blast. Im definitely gonna play it some more.
March 6, 200620 yr Man Coral Sea is all i'm gonna say. Nothing like dog fighting in an prop driven plane.
March 6, 200620 yr That reminds me that I should spend some of my free time downloading all these new patches for 1942, Vietnam and 2. You know that I'm going to play with you once I have the chance.
March 6, 200620 yr Author I'm telling you man... we had so much fun last night - and I plan on playing some tonight. Think about this: > Sniper rifles that kill in ONE haedshot from 300 yards > Tank projectiles fall rapidly with gravity > Bombers - REAL bombers > Mobile spawn on aircraft > Ships that can be moved - and submarines! > 88's on the beaches > Omaha Beach > Iwo Jima > EL ALAMEIN! Need I say more. Good times... and no annoying team bug.
March 11, 200620 yr we keep all old games installed for variety, all the way back to Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior, Redneck Rampage. Talk about laughs. :peace: "Change is as good as a rest." We also keep all big patches if space not needed incase we have to reinstall a game. But I found atleast with my Nvidia 5200, drivers newer then 77.77 did not always work with these older games.
