March 21, 200619 yr Good points from all. Thanks to Seth and Gator for long detailed points. I agree with both sides of the argument. It's a good game. It needs really good systems and/or net connection to all in server. The only beefs I can think of at moment that seem legitimate are : 1-being able to give up an unlock you feel was not helpful, for another new unlock. 2-take time to add in to game code lesser resolution options, allowing many more people to try to enjoy it online. I see people having lag probs that have well within needed specs. So I guess the game is pushing demands a bit. But I also figure, besides detail options in maps, it's because the progammers listened to complaints about BFV. One of which were audio team talk was not there in BFV. Making harder and less enjoyable trying to help organize team flanks. So they added that, atleast for same squads. Adding the Commander further put needs on pcs and net speed to server and it's userers' pings to you. So I guess I'm not totally knocking it. I think it is good attempt that just leaves some of us behind with lesser pcs or net pings. Personally, I'd like to see ability to talk on mic to either whole team or squad. Bottom line : Less resolution option would have allowed more to play it online without lag and more enjoyment. The complaints about crappy teams are to me just like rolling the "DICE". "It" happens. Put up and try to make a differance or find better teams elsewhere.
March 21, 200619 yr I enjoyed reading both of your comments (Klink, Gator.) Some days I don't feel like playing BF2 for some of the reasons you stated, but then I get the itch on other days and play it nonstop. I guess I do like the game a lot (ergo spending way too much money on it) and I feel that EA/Dice is trying to appease the masses which is more than some will try. I agree that its buggy, but I have had a whole lot of fun playing the "buggy" version. The bottom line is, if I get stressed out because of a false reality, I need to smash my computer and burn all the games with it. This is a stress reliever for me, although sometimes it seems like a stress causer.
March 22, 200619 yr Author To add to Gators ideas about medals I just get them because I like to try to "master" each kit. It' smore of a way to keep track of how long I have played. I know I don't but I figure if I get the 100 hours in and the 40 kills and 25 repairs or heals or resupplies then I think I am at least capable at the kit. Experience has got to count for something and the more you use it the more you know what the kit can do. If you get Expert in the kit you must be doing something right and can help the team if and when the kit is needed. To add to Gators idea about having fun with the ARmory guys. Man, tonight I C4 TK'd 5 guys in the palace on Warlord and I'm tellin ya I was ROFLing so hard. None were intentional at all but I get mixed up with the uniforms in SF and next thing you know BOOM my team is totally gone from the cap and we lose. At least I don't do that much.
March 22, 200619 yr Sounds a lot like you're siding with the "I'm so leet, this game takes no skill, I'm out" group. Not cool. Personally, I haven't played BF2 in a while because I really don't start to enjoy it after a round or two, it works against you. And really, the medals or ribbons never mattered to me. They're nothing but 1010101010-ego-blowers. They have no application to anything. I met Blazin.Uk on a server, and topped him. This is the best multiplayer FPS game ever created ...without a doubt. Play something else. Just because this game incorporates all areas (no matter how useless or ineffective they are ingame) doesn't make it the greatest. It's far from that. In the time I've played Red Orchestra (a good week now or so) I've enjoyed it far more immensely than some of my Bf2 sessions. And those expansions, boosters, whatever were sorry excuses for whatever they were. A mod team could make that in a month and release it for free. EA/DICE have bull****ed their way through Bf2, and everyone knows it.
March 23, 200619 yr what frustrates me with the game more then anything else is that if EA/Dice spent the time to FIX all the problems that they have created then this game would be leaps and bounds better then most. Ive played almost non stop since saturday and i can honestly say that the major problems with the game are in the vehicles and the balencing of the vehicles. The fact that most of the classes are utterly useless against a tank, helicopter or air plane is a major flaw in the game. This game could be amazing for firefights and squad to squad battles, if EA/Dice made some maps that REALLY focused on the foot soldier battles. Now, i havent gotten SF, or EF. Mostly because im afraid that when i do ill just stop playing due to frustration, but from what ive heard neither of these seem to fix these problems.
March 24, 200619 yr angreh post time again folks! so yeah, im at wits end. theres nothing to play, and my parents wont let me get Oblivion, because they want me to work for it. yeah i know what youre all thinking, what a lazy ass. well, its true. anyway, i need a new game or ill go insane because of boredom. plus, WoW is too monotonous. .
March 24, 200619 yr If it weren't for the fact that I haven't played more than 5 online first person shooters for any appreciable length of time, BF2 wouldn't even make it into my top 5. If BF2 had no bugs, then it might be able to beat TFC, but that's about as high as I could ever see it going. It'd still be behind CSS and way behind FA. I played FA for years without getting really bored with it. BF2 lasted all of 2 months, maybe. I just don't think it's that fun or enjoyable to play. Also, just so you know steveO, your reeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllly missing out by not having Oblivion.

March 25, 200619 yr Reinstall some older games you used to like and haven't done for awhile. all of those games are either too kiddy-like, or i dont want to play them because theyre not online. or just because they dont have a good singleplayer. :/. .... of course... there's always that one game that i never knew how to beat. i think its called 'Riven'.

March 26, 200619 yr The check used game stores. oh i think ive asked for enough from my parents in terms of games. but anyway, i have reason to believe im getting Oblivion soon .
March 26, 200619 yr oh i think ive asked for enough from my parents in terms of games. but anyway, i have reason to believe im getting Oblivion soon . I have reason to belive im bored also and Im broke......and Private Parts wont buy oblivion because he doesnt want it! D: /beg doesnt work....ever....... (I get most of my games by using the ones Pvt.Parts uses...Then when he beats them I play them) Im currently in line for: SpellForce:
March 26, 200619 yr I agree about BF2, can't stand playing there very often anymore. But SF still lets me enjoy a little death, murder, kill with friends without to much hassle. Thats why I joined the clan. Game sucks most of the time if friends aren't around but I love It when we are all on our server hunting each other down and laughing about it. Thats why I still play.
