IMHO NGE is the best Anime ever. Besides great animatics, music it is a braincracker. Just try to watch and understand last two episodes. They are enough to get you into City of the Madmen. But thats the fun of it. Understandment. To understand it You need to have a huge knowledge of the Qmran Sect, Dead Sea Scrolls and general Christian and Judaic Symbolism. But even with this there is something else, elusive. Braincracking indeed. THats why its such a great series.Well, not to forget THE Hayashibara Megumi (Ayanami Rei/Ikari Yui/Pen-Pen) and the rest of the Seyiuu cast.
The people hate last two 'original' episodes, becouse they want action. And they are all-but action. They are psychological study of you-know-who. Many people dont understand it.
Soryu ASUKA Langley you mean.Soryu i think means Blue-Grey Dragon or somethin like that.IMHO nothing beats Ayanami Rei. Not in NGE, neither in any other anime.
