Edmonton Wins!!!!!

I have to say I am fed up with the stupid rules or refs. This delay of game crap when the defenceman is clearly trying to shoot it off of the glass and it just goes over by a millimetre then they get the penalty. Are they freeking stupid? Edmonton was down 5 or 6 men to 3 for the last 2 minutes of the game because of this lame penalty. Pronger, clearly their MVP of the playoffs, was the one that got the penaly too. They won so good for them.
good to see a canadian team in the finals :D :) ...now lets see if they get shafted like calgary did in game 6 of the last finals which would have won us the cup...

I rather think it is a good rule. The allure of hockey is its fast paced, fluid gameplay. If they were allowed to hit the puck out of play over the glass in a clearing maneuver to relieve pressure from an attack, it would be lame, for a better lack of words. The fluidity of the game would be lost. Therefore, glancing it off the glass in a clearing maneuver is a calculated, very legal, risk. And if you accidentally hit it over while trying for the glass, then the risk played against you.

It used to be at the refs discretion if it was on purpose or not. I guess they got rid of that good part of the rule.

But, tell me this, how does it delay the game more than an icing? The guy could easily ice the puck and then have a face of in virtually the same spot as if he shot it over the boards. The only problem is, now, he gets a needless penalty.

ya the nhl really needs to take a harder look at these new rules! i mean there a good idea to bring in moire =fans casue it is good for the sport and even tho the shootouts make me have a heart attack when the flyers are in them, they are still alot of fun!! for the most part i like what they are doing!!
They dont want people to get hurt silly. That would mean netting all over the rink and then attendence would really go down the tubes. Gotta read between the blue lines. :D

Good point Sharp6. I lean with Klink from his icing point of view. :(

The total penalties called against US and Canack teams shows heavily against Canucks, especially when in us rink. hmmmm. maybe coincidance even if 3:1 ratio.

I'm a Devils fan, but since they got whipped against NC and the way NC been playing they look like a solid team to win the stanley cup. My bet's on them when they cleansweep the next game against BUffalo <~~ might of misspelled that. :(
