July 1, 200619 yr here we are in the quarter finals, England vs the portugese dancing fairies. already one red card for england for a push and here is portugal diving at will going down from the wind blowing the wrong way and pushing US, but where are their cards???? england got a yellow in the 1st half for a man down that didn't leave the pitch, portugal do it and nothing!!! these refs need to be fair and impartial....every game england has played the refs have been partial to the other teams.....its **** ****  if we are going to lose i hope they injure every one of them floating fairies and give them somthing to roll around on the grass about.. Edit: even though we are down to 10 men we still look the better side, im sure if a portugese player read this he'd fall to the ground and roll cluthing his face because his feelings are hurt...thats not football, thats crap!!!
July 1, 200619 yr This is "soccer" or "europa football"... Referees are not computers and do not use video witness same as american football! Egidio.
July 1, 200619 yr Author This is "soccer" or "europa football"... Referees are not computers and do not use video witness same as american football! Egidio. the thing is he sees these "fouls" and knows they are illegitimate or phony...but has yet to produce a card becuase of it...portugal have fouled at least 3 times i've seen where a yellow card seems almost to leniant but they are yet to be booked...my game is fair play their game is "sell out"
July 1, 200619 yr I think it was a poor choice by FIFA to change the rules so close to the world cup, its really changed the game, they should have waited till afterwards to see the devistating effect it has had.
July 1, 200619 yr i wouldn't say u have bad officals in just any sport cuz i'm a umpire for youth baseball and we don't have bad umpires we may get some stupid ones but thats about it.
July 1, 200619 yr well i say bad because alot of the times it seems like they favor one team from the other, thats not always the case but ive seen it where they call one team on something, then the other team will do something similar and get away with it, and it will happen continuously throughout the game
July 1, 200619 yr u mean like one of the us games where we lost 2 guys and the other team only lost 1 even tho another player elbowed a guy and didn't get a red card.
July 1, 200619 yr exactly, and not just in soccer either, it happens in alot of professional sports like the NHL especially
July 1, 200619 yr There were a lot of missed calls in today's game, yes - and yes, it does seem like the refs are biased against England. Part of life, I'm afraid...it was a good game anyway. I'm just sad that England lost. /craie

July 2, 200619 yr What Rooney did was certainly uncalled for...I daresay the fact he got a red card cost England the game.
July 2, 200619 yr all i know is so far i've seen 2 games that have been decided by a penalty shot that were horrible calls
July 4, 200619 yr Author the game today was very good, a few dives but most were not called and most of the fouls were called....Lt.Smash Approves
July 5, 200619 yr Yes. The ref did a decent job for the most part and left it up to the players to win or loose the game. Italy dives more than Germany though.
July 5, 200619 yr Author Yes. The ref did a decent job for the most part and left it up to the players to win or loose the game. Italy dives more than Germany though. Italy dives more than anyone
July 5, 200619 yr Italy dives more than anyone not as much as Argentina used to....they were horrible...
July 6, 200619 yr Author not as much as Argentina used to....they were horrible... Well its nothing against italy, like i said before when they want to play, THEY CAN PLAY, but too much diving and bickering sometimes makes it unbearable to watch.....after watching france and portugal yesterday it seems that portugal is right up there too
July 6, 200619 yr Yes. Italy can play. They certainly outplayed Germany in the second half of the second half and the overtimes.
July 6, 200619 yr not as much as Argentina used to....they were horrible... well most of Serie A game is like watching a game between molly-coddles... floppings... yellings of 'pain'... the only exception is Gattuso... I like their national team though... I root for them through the whole tournament and they beat everyone fair except a game against Aussies... BTW: I read that it's been mathematically proved that soccer is the most unpredictable sport of all and that's why the whole world (except US) loves it.
July 7, 200619 yr Well maybe its not as much as you think. The more they get paid. The more they cry like babies when they get a minor scrap. Thats predictable.
