Posted July 3, 200619 yr A variety of pics to post. Some of the last ones are from the Blue Angels practice we got to watch. Was very cool. On the landing pics, you'll notice one doing a tail hook landing. Well, after the practice was over, 4 of the jets came back in pretty quick, however, two of them took awhile to appear, and one was obviously experiencing some sort of problem. Apparently, he suffered a hydrolic problem which was affecting his flaps and airbrakes. Have tons more, but not posting everything. Also have some short videos of the blues which I may try to get posted too. One pic, might get me in trouble if the girlfriend ever sees this post... July 4, 200619 yr Author Cool pics man, I checked out the Girlfriend twice.... I never had the chance to go to Pensacola looks cool. I worked on the F-14 for 8 years and it still looks cool. Anyone know what the string is for in front of the windscreen? Would it be some sort of release for the nose cone for access to the radar assembly? That very plane BTW, is the very last F14 produced, and was officially retired (as are all the F14's) just a few months ago, will be going in the museum soon. The one that is on the stand out front of the building, is the very first F14 ever produced, and saw exactly 0 flight hours. It was used for drop testing... They said it needed some extensive repairs before being put on display.. TFD
