August 14, 200619 yr Author Soooo, doesnt look like i'm too far off then. I guess I need to do some more tweaking. Oh, and I used 3DMark05 b/c the sys. requirements for '06 were 2.5Ghz CPU or higher and I dont have that. Should I use it anyway?
August 14, 200619 yr Here's my score in 3dmark05 -- 12295 -- Much higher then with 3dmark06 -- 6808 -- not bad /monthly_06_2011/post-1393-130810186623_thumb.jpg
August 15, 200619 yr Author anyone can use 06, doesn't mean you'll get a good score though. hehe. 2.5GHz and other GHz requirements are still based on the Intel equivelent. So your 3200 (ie 3.2GHz rated) is just fine. AMD will eventually get away from the intel based numbers. I ran the test on my 6100 integrated video and got like 600 points. You should run it as it gives a better overal scale on the system with the CPU test and better 2.0/3.0 shader testing which is used in newer games. You know I wish games came out with 3dmark score requirements instead because sys requirements are often inaccurate. oh, I should've known that. DL'ing 06 now. **scratches head...wondering what score he'll get**
August 15, 200619 yr Author Ok, so I ran '06 and boy do I need to do some work. I got a 3018!!!!! So Mac, what was it again you said about some reinstalls... /monthly_06_2011/post-878-130810186642_thumb.jpg
August 15, 200619 yr well those tests are fine and dandy but i find alot of your score has to do with your vid card alone. Good example i ran 3dmark03 with my 6800 and scored in the 9000 range, then again with my 7800 and scored in the 15000, then again with my 7900 and scored in the 19000...all the while i hadnt changed anything else other than my vid cards. Maybe the 06 version is based on different things but i think the most of your score relies on your vid card setup.
August 15, 200619 yr I just hit up 6971 with the card I got from Impact Now I'm one of the cool kids!
August 16, 200619 yr 9800Pro/9700Pro are still viable as a gaming cards. Just need a system to push it.
August 16, 200619 yr Yes and it will get worse. The Vcards will advance faster than CPU's for a while. Should that is.
August 16, 200619 yr here is the link of the resaultshttp://service.futuremark.com/orb/projectdetails.jsp?projectType=12
August 16, 200619 yr Well, for one thing. Some were running the tests at 1024x768, which make a big difference. Some were runing the tests at a much higher setting, which will result in lower numbers, so turn your settings down to 1024x768 and see what reading you get.
August 16, 200619 yr got 1253 on 3dmark06 here is the link http://service.futuremark.com/orb/projectdetails.jsp?projectType=14&projectId=436773 is this score good?
August 17, 200619 yr Something's jacked with the tests on AMD X2 CPU's - I got like 3000's on 06. I then selected single CPU affinity and it ran much better. The tool may not fair well on dual cores.
