August 24, 200619 yr I heard Valve was coming out with some newer version of Team Fortress with the next addon or HL release or what not. Sorry but I have been out of the loop a while. Has anyone got any info on when it is going to be out? Is this the same as fortress forver or whatever that mod for HL2 was called?
August 24, 200619 yr A new video just came out today http://www.gamestar.hu/downloads.php3?op=visit&lid=5629 it's being released as Episode 2's multiplayer compenant, so it's not a seperate game. It's using more of a retro-70s spy style artwork than Fortress Forever which is sticking to the grungy TFC style. Think The Incredibles, which really is a great direction for something as crazy as TF Portal also comes with this package as a kind of extra gift I really don't see why anyone would not buy the Episode 2 package, it's just too damn good for $19.75
August 24, 200619 yr It is either gonna Rock or be too much to handle. Portal looks like fun till your brain explodes from thinking too much. If EA only had Valves understanding of what games want. Add on pack with free games and different styles of games too.

You guys should just try warcrack until HL2 or the new version of BF comes out. I said I would never play it but now I am hooked. It has more content and larger world of any game I have ever played. You can actually go for hours and never see the same thing.

Statecop, its nice you finally have a game you stay playing more than a month. Glad your having fun with the wizards and leprechauns.

You know how much I made fun of people that played that game I am actually looking forward to TF2...I will most likely play that for a while. You are right I do change games a lot
August 29, 200619 yr I dunno Im seriously bummed. TF2 was supposed to be the epitome of modern team combat. I remember reading all the articles about the (then) brand spanking new technologies it was going to incoporate. I was really looking forward to the gritty pseudo realistic setting they were going for. Even with all the team games that have come out in the 5 years since we last heard anything about TF2 I knew Valve would find some way to be unique. I just was expecting them to do this.... Im sure Ill still play it, since the original TFC was fun for some quick and dirty action (VIP hunt was awesome), but it will just feel like a graphical makeover to a game whose core gameplay has since been VASTLY improved and expanded on by other games.

That's the exact problem Why throw out another gritty modern shooter that bares little resemblance to the acutal TF franchise when many other games (noteably BF) have beaten you to it? They knew they weren't going to be able to stand up to BF2, so why bother? Find a different niche, fit it, and watch the player count rise

It was never an "ubar-realistic" game, and I don't think it ever set out to be. I can't wait for it to come out .
