July 19, 200322 yr I am happy that english is not my first language but my 4th on the total of 8, do you think if on high school the teacher learn you foul or strong language in each word & phraze that he says ? No, i learned the good words and i am happy that i dont know all that idiot or stupid words who dont make you a real man but a retarded mind or retarded brain like a primitive humain... For Kywalker san, i practice too the Kendo but also Iaïdo who is the mastership of the two swords and those two swords used in Kendo too to practice "nito".For BulletFace san, everybody practice Kendo : men, women, children and old people. We are in armor with hands protected and full helmet like Fence but more solid cos it receive the hits of the "shinaï" on the front.Kendo is not a violent or dangerous "sport" : it's learned in "University sport" or real "martial art" same as i learn it in Belgium.I practice Kendo (look my blue spray in the game), Iaïdo and Jodo (little Bo).Egidio.
July 19, 200322 yr Yes. But there is also a little difference. If i am not mistaken in Ken-do/Iai-do from the two swords one is shorter (wakasashi) the other longer (katana). I have both swords the same length (they are more like the longswords, the Nodachi).

July 19, 200322 yr for some reason my grandma has like short swords from vietnam in her house, usually when she does stuff with weapons they are like fake but whatever, shes weird lol. it has such a purty design on the sword holder thing, lol i cant even remember the correct term for it, man im sad. hehe
July 20, 200322 yr Yes. But there is also a little difference. If i am not mistaken in Ken-do/Iai-do from the two swords one is shorter (wakasashi) the other longer (katana). I have both swords the same length (they are more like the longswords, the Nodachi). Sorry Kywalker but in realty, i dont have understund very well. But if you expose your two swords onto a horizontal stand-swords, dont forget to put them hilts "Stuka" to the left side with the cutting edge in upper side too, there is the correct position onto the stand-swords, if the cutting egde is down & the "stuka" in the right position : it is easy to unsheathe the sword and kill the visitor(s) but in the other side (in left with the cutting edge upper) it's impossible to unsheathe quickly = no agressive attitude to respect your visitor(s), also for the etiquette (ceremony) of all people. But in vertical stand-sword (one sword only), put the "stuka" down and the "saya" (sheath) up for the correct etiquette, else if the "stuka" is up and the "saya" down : you understand that it's easy to unsheathe the sword from the stand-sword = agressive attitude... Now make good practices. Egidio.
July 20, 200322 yr IF you dont understand ill explain to you what i meant step by step:Ken-do/Iai-do uses Katana in one hand and Wakasashi in the other.I use Nodachi-type sword (longest Japanese swords f im not mistaken) in one hand and THE SAME kind of sword in the other.Your tutorial is good for what you are training with, but in my position it might prove difficult. Nodachi are at least 10-15 cm longet than Katana and twice as that longer than Wakasashi. The sole unseathing of both swrods (heh even one sword) at the same time is very difficult becouse of the length. It also changes the style of fighting. To be efficient i need to treat the swords equally and have the same movement patterns for the both of them. This is not neccesary with your outfit.
July 20, 200322 yr Sorry but Yes Kywalker i have understund a half, but now i understand that your 2 swords are same but most long that a Katana, but practice with the 2 same long swords it's hard & dangerous... But like all great master sword, you will finish by to become a Nodashi expert. Ganbate kudassaï. (= Tenez bon ! / Stand firm or Hold out).Egidio.
July 20, 200322 yr Arigatou gozai masu, Born to Die -sama.I know its dangerous. I wouldnt let myself touch the REAL swords for the next 10 years or so. So far i am satisfied with wooden sticks i make myself, for we dont have a[ppropriate facilities in Poland, nor we have money to buy the real practice tools. Also there is only one Kendo school in Poland and its as far away from where i live as possible. Also there are no private teachers.
July 20, 200322 yr If one day i have a lot of money, i shall come in Poland with my teacher, my senseï and praticants to teach you as well as we can... Glad to meat you in the future Kywalker. Egidio. Give me your e-mail or msn adress to send you the "kihon Kendo Kata" form of the "Kendo Kata" traditional form. Or go here to find yourself the files : http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/abkf/?yguid=132939788 Or directely the web site of the Federation : http://www.bkr.be : it's also in English in ABKF section with links to others Dojo to find in video the Kendo Kata. And, i think, there is also a link for all web sites in the world for Kendo, Iaïdo, Jodo, etc... I am in the Shôshinkan martial arts school. To practice with that 2 same swords, i know "Kung Fu" chinese form for practician use this but in a very high level...
