EA Finally owns DICE

Featured Replies

I read an article that EA has finally purchased DICE. They were major stock holders in DICE last year or so, but now they own it.

Here is the new DICE website

They also said that 2 hours after they signed the deal, they closed the EA Canada office, and all those folks I guess lost their jobs. EA is a monopoly, and I think the government should intervene.

I've been thinking that myself, for a while.

Oh yea!

Didn't you tell me deli that EA owns the right to the NFL? I think that is a load of crap. I don't play sports game much. But still.....

They are probably thinking...who in the government is really goign to care about a gaming company?

EA owns the rights to NASCAR games. Thats why the last good one made was in 2003 by Sierra and Papyrus.

EA is a Giant and they are only getting bigger.

The list just goes on and on with what they own. Don't forget about the Call of Duty Series, Comand and Conquer and the need for speed series. I'm trying to think of more but i can't at the moment.
Only time will tell if this is a blessing or one step closer to the crapper for EA.

Here is the story and it's DICE Canada that got closed down not EA Canada. Bluesnews is reporting about the shutdown of the Canadian branch of DICE.

On the morning of Oct 2nd hours after EA finalized the buyout of DICE, it closed the Canadian subsidiary DICE Canada (Developers of BF: Vietnam and BF2: Special forces). There where 28 employees at the Canadian office.

EA Canada is still up and running, I would know because one of my friends works for EA Canada. He makes games for the xbox 360. And I asked him about this and he said that it's just DICE Canada and not EA Canada that's been closed down.
