Whenever I try a new game, my mouse does not work properly. I will turn right, wait a second, and then it will go. It is very annoying and I want this to be fixed for HL2. Any help???

what type of mouse...optical...ball...wire...without wire...if ball, when did u clean it the last time?if without wire, check batteries first... since when do u have this prob... did it occur suddenly, or did u do something to your mouse (changed pad, position of receiver (if without wire)...)???tell us, and maybe there is someone who can help... :o Peace KP

Optical w/ cord. It isnt the mouse problem, its some graphic thing, I had the exact same thingt happen to me when I started playing FA. I did something, but I cannot remember.

did u put that mouse filter thing in the custumize or the control section of like FA

It isn't the mouse! I have already said that. It feels like there are 2 cursors that are supposed to be tied together, but they aren't. The sursor UNDER the in-game one goes faster than the in-game one. Does that put it in a better perspective?

Outch WSAENOTSOCK if it's the same thing who is happened to me : it's your graphics card who is tired and like mine, it will die on some days...Mine begin by openGl death and after there have a decal between the movement mouse and the graphic mouse pointer move onto the screen !Egidio.

I have 3 other hints for you :1) Your ram is ? MB. = 512 -> OK.2) On your 80 GB. hd how remain ? = ?3) Windows use a "virtual memory" on your hd : most of time = 10% of your hd value = 8 GB.4) If your hd is near to be full by a lot of mod games installed & downloaded files, the virtual memory wait for space on your hd before to display next graphic in openGl.I think the last hint is the cos of your slow down motions... But with 512 MB. it doesnt make this proplem, but who says !Good solution : buy a new 80 GB. hd, & make it in "slave" mode, to transfert all the downloaded files, backup of yours docs and yours other goodies... To set free much place on your C:.Egidio.

Yes = 40 - (10%) = 36 !Now = 10 - 4 = 6 remain = not enough !Win ask you sometime to clean your hd... Isnt-it ?And when you ask to defrag your hd, it write : There is not enough space to defrag the hd !Egidio.

Yes, 10 GB. is 25 % but remove the 4 GB. = 10% for the virtual memory : remain only 15% => not enough <= also, it's the limit for the "defrag" !If win dont take most of 10 % from the 40 GB. i often seen win take 15 to 20 % in the little hd with computer having only 256 MB. ram !!!There is for that i have 2 hd of 40 GB. & my son Psy4 have 2 hd of 80 GB. cos he download much files, music & films...If win dont ask you to clean your hd, then there is a mod game that you have intalled soon who crash you openGl configuration and slow down your screen motions display !We will find the trouble soon...Egidio.

IF you have an Optical Pad, make sure its not on a SHiny or Reflective surfave, Tranparent PAds will cause the same effect.An optical mouse can only track well on textured or Dark surfaces, WHite and clear pads are the worst for Mouse pads. Dunno if thats the problem you are having , other thing maybe a Driver issue.. dunno.

My optical mouse is on a white sheet who is destinate to print it ! But it used for my mouse & i dont have problems ! :o Egidio.

I have had exactly the same problem. I had my cursor where it would flash and appear transparent sometimes even a mirror image. Well I got a new video card I needed a new one anyway. My video card must have been conflicting with FA and the HF engine. Because now it works great
