November 2, 200619 yr I went to check the stats feed http://bf2142tracker.com/bf2142_userprofile.php?bf2142pid=81316211, and this is the new warning message: Please note: It is currently not possible to update player stats! We had to disable all this stuff after we received a letter from EA. We have to wait some more time until they decided if there will be an official stats feed available for us. We are really sorry for this but we can not change it. If we ever want to get access to the official stats-feed, we can not update playerstats right now using the unofficial feed. It's simply not allowed and if we would continue using the unofficial (illegal) feed we would never get access to the official feed. So we just can wait and hope that they make stats available for us soon. Really sorry :peace:
November 2, 200619 yr CONGRATULATIONS EA on alienating another group of hard working gamers that try to provide a service for the community. Too bad all the work gone into the 2142 site is probably for nothing. I hope EA gets lots of hits on the new tracker they built and makes lots of money. :peace:
November 2, 200619 yr Ya I saw that and wasn't very happy ElektrA has worked really hard on the website just to have EA say nope you can't have the stats feed EA just doesn't want anyone to have stats. Stupid EA
November 3, 200619 yr yeah it is pretty dumb of EA, Rumors are going around that they may start charging for stats feeds and honestly I wouldnt be suprised if they did.
November 3, 200619 yr Maybe they want money for everything. A "poorer" business choice in my opinion because public access to free feeds would likely encourage game sales. Or, maybe their systems have been overloading with net traffic. So they disabled that to try for now to improve game and stats performance. Maybe they'll add more data handling hardware and allow it later.
November 3, 200619 yr yes they would be thats for sure, remember these are only rumors floating around on different forums as they have no credibility as of yet. But I guess time will tell...who knows what they are up to:confused:
November 3, 200619 yr EA is so big, I honestly believe they think they don't need peaple like this to support them anymore. They own a big enough chunk of the gaming market they can do pretty much what they want to. It's only if the players rise up enmass and say "no more" and stop padding EA's wallet that this will happen. Sony Online Entertainment alienated a huge portion of their playerbase when they changed "Star Wars Galaxies" in a way that 95 percent of the playerbase hated, and their supscriptions plummeted BIG TIME. So, it's been known to happen. However... as popular as the Battlefield, Command And Conquer, Madden, Need For Speed, and other well known titles are... I'm afraid that EA is pretty much set in their corner of the market. I highly doubt things are going to change soon.
November 4, 200619 yr We need a big name ( Robin Williams for example LOL ) and a great website made by someone good ( Gator for example ) and then launch an EA thing where we can all sign up and refuse to buy their games and get some exposure on Nightline or Howard or something LOL. Maybe, then, they'd listen.

I thought it was fun to play the game, not a chore -e- Also, I like the game, I dont think because they wont let some tracker thing made by not them work ((Or w/e.)) is a reason to "omg boycott" EA. =/.
