Hey guys. I'm really getting into bf2142, and have decided that unlike bf2 I want to get as high a rank as I can. I'm just wondering if any of you high scorers have advice as to what strategies you use to earn high scoring rounds.

 

I know J.C Moncur is always saying on Vent how he just had a 500 point score.

 

Any help would be great

Also, be squad leader or commander. Both positions garner lots of bonus points.

Yep look at your progress on your badges etc. and work on a particular one and then get the points.

Squad leader keep telling squad where to attack and defend and get points for eveything they do there.

often times whenever you log into 2142 for some reason or another you wont have your rank or unlocks etc. Its during times like these that you really need to step up your game play cause you can re-win all of your ribbons and badges With this I’v won Good Conduct Ribbon, Soldier Merit Ribbon, Distinguished Unit Service Ribbon, and Infantry Officer Ribbon several times each:D

hmmm good call kane. knowing my luck they have probably addressed this issue. or may do so soon...

during the last week i'v ranked up 3 times winning well over 6,000 points doing this:p

You can win these multiple times. For instance if it requires 50 hours and 10 kills IAR to get a particular ribbbon then you should get it every 50 hour increment after you get 10 kills in that round.

But, I have gotten badges like 20 kills for Recon for 500 points a few times now and got some ribbon for 500 a few times also and didn't fill the requirement for more than once. So, ya make hay while the sun shines if you don't mind knowing you got the points in a dumb way thanks to EA.

My problem is, I rarely don't have my rank in game dammit.

You need to go for the ribbons and badges. Medals don't earn you any points in this game. Silver badges net you 500 and gold earn you 1000. The ribbons vary from small amounts to large amounts such as 2000 points.

The biggest Ribbon I've seen so far is the Legion Of Merit. That ribbon is worth 2k. It's given after you get 150 hours and 10 best kill streaks... then all you need is 10 kills in a round and you get an easy rank up.

 

Pins are good for points, even tho they aren't worth more than 20. In titan mode, go for the Titan guns when you have a lull and you can get 20 points for every Titan Destructor Pin you earn. 8 Knife Kills in a round will earn you the 20 point Collector's Pin. I've been doing alot of work with the Clark Shotgun lately. 8 or 10 shotgun kills earn you the Close Quarters Combat Pin, which is 10 points right there.

 

Just a few examples. But they are right, the rewards are good for the points. They also help you as a player get proficiant in other areas of the game which helps you be a better team player if you need to switch to another kit because of a sitation.

 

Pity Medals don't give you points tho :/ Those "Get all Bronze/Silver/Gold badges" medals should of been worth SOMETHING for all the effort you put into them

When you are not going for badges or ribbons...command or be a squad leader. I found that those two offered the best opportunity for higher points. On titan maps I find my way to the titan and shoot out their guns 8 times and get a quick 40 points for those two pins. I also found that defending the titans earns your some mucho points. Well thats a noobs perspective....
