  1. I really like having FF on and punishing off. VOIP is a big plus for me too. I've found the teamplay to be better here than on the more established SF servers.
  2. I don't know if there are any Armory guys/gals still playing Special Forces, but if there are I'd recommend you check out this new Full Contact War Special Forces Server below. The map rotation is limited right now to Warlord and Ghost Town but plans are to add Mass Destruction soon and possibly some night maps after the server base is better established. FCW AMERICA 24/7 IO 75.126.204.72:16567 -VOIP ENABLED -64 Player -24/7 Warlord & Ghost Town (2 rounds each map) -FF ON -AUTO BALANCE ON -TEAMSWITCH ON -PUNISHING OFF -BASERAPING ALLOWED -PUNKBUSTER GLOBAL BANS ENABLED -CLANS HONORED, they can recruit, team up, pwn!
  3. My condolences. Almost the exact same thing happened to our 12 year old dog Tigger. He had classic symptoms of a stroke (paralysis on one side of face) and was having seizures...likely cause was a brain tumor.
  4. I voted "Cruise". We'll be taking another cruise next month (11 nights in the Mediterranean). Spain, France, Italy...it should be fun. If the question were best family vacation I'd probably have to say Disneyworld. When our kids were young (from about 6 to 14) we'd take our camper to Disneyworld (Fort Wilderness) about 3-4 times per year. Great times.

Congrats Joe! I should be getting my captain's bars too in about 3 weeks.

I like Devil's Perch the best of the three maps as well...I suggested Iron Gator because it appears to be the most popular of the three SEAL/MEC SF maps judging by the number of servers running it (with some being 24/7 Iron Gator).

What about one of the SEAL vs MEC SF maps, which would be Leviathan, Devil's Perch or Iron Gator? Of these, Iron Gator seems to be the most popular. Or, perhaps after the server is better established, be bold and try including all eight maps? Sorry I couldn't play more last night but that one round on Ghost Town against the chopper whores was fun.

Now that the SF server is up, can someone say what the map rotation is please?
  9. That'd be my recommendation.
  10. I watch it with my 17 year old daughter. It really doesn't matter much whether a lesser talent (Sanjaya) is kept around longer than some which have a bit more talent (everyone else that's been voted off to this point). There are still what, 7 singers left and of those, there are only 3 max that have any commercial potential. When it gets down to the nitty gritty, hacks like Sanjaya will be shown the door.
  11. It would be awesome if Armory put up an SF server again.
  12. Gator and sharp are right on mixing booster and vanilla maps. It sounds cool (and it is for those that have the booster) however, it'll hurt server attendance by disrupting player count continuity. It'll be up/down/up/down. Eventually it'll just be down. On the large "titan" maps in conquest mode, they can be a lot of fun...especially if the server is full. My favorite is Minsk especially in the trenches around Silo 1.
  13. Hey guys. Just saw the threads over on the VSF forums and just wanted to pop in and say that I still love you guys! I've been gaming with you all for a year or so and I appreciate the time and effort put forth by Armory as a whole to provide a quality place to play. Is Armory perfect? Is VSF? Heck no. But both groups do make a concerted effort to try and provide an enjoyable gaming environment for both their members AND non-members who play on their servers. Teams get stacked from time to time on all servers. When that happens to me, whether I'm on the winning side or losing side, I go elsewhere because in either case it's boring. On the pod thing, personally I think it's an exploit and I give EA/DICE the middle finger salute for enabling it in the game; however, each community has a right to decide how it's to be treated on their server. Phrogg - I hate you and your knife.
  14. I'm almost positive that the ONLY points that count towards the 1000 Commander points for silver is the part that is calculated as an average of your team's score. Commander bonus points do not count and the 2x bonus does not count. They do count in your Career Points in terms of ranking up.
  15. Jlspence replied to Wolfey's topic in Gaming
I watch for this very thing when I command. It was a lot worse prior to the transport exploit being fixed. If commanding, pop out of the command screen from time to time and check the score screen. If you see any suspicious scores, resign as commander immediately so you don't get falsely accused of padding. Also, if you see any of your team loitering, typically in a vehicle at the edge of the out of bounds, chances are they are doing the medic/heal exploit to stat pad.
  16. You get commander score from the average of your team's score. This goes towards your Global Score. If your team wins, this score is doubled. You get commander bonus points that go towards your Career Score for the things RedFrost mentioned. Branloch: You must have your Bronze Conquest and Titan Command badges to be eligible to get the respective Command Silver badges. To get the Bronze, you have to get a command score of 30. This is the score that is calculated as an average of your team's score. It does NOT include any commander bonus points and it is PRIOR to the 2X bonus if you are the winning commander. For the silver badges one needs 1000 Global commander score and 25 minutes as commander in a single round. The latter requirement is the toughest to get as most rounds don't last that long.
  17. I'll be out of town...the following Monday is a holiday for us government employees.
  18. VSF doesn't play competitive matches like you guys. While we might joke about kicking your butts, etc. the reality is we just want to have some intense, fun rounds - win or lose. I do know that as soon as someone noticed the teams were unbalanced and said so on Teamspeak we had plenty of volunteers to go to the "enemy" side. Frankly, I'm disappointed to read that the effort wasn't appreciated.
  19. I've upgraded my processor so I'm getting rid of the old one. Just over 2 years old and guaranteed against DOA. The going price on ebay is $39-$50. I'm askng $40 for it. I'll split the actual shipping charges. Thanks.
  20. Good games Armory. The Gulf of Oman rounds and the final Karkand round were right down to the wire.
  21. Hey Armory, We have a co-op instance of Desert Combat Final running on our new server over at VSF (for a few days anyway) for those that might like to have some fun. Here's the info: VSF DC Final -- 74.52.239.66:14567 Maps: Gazala El Alamein Bocage Berlin Omaha Beach DC DesertShield
  22. BF2 would be even better in terms of attracting more VSFers.
  23. Gator, I believe I can get about 10 VSFers to go for some BF2:SF. How does Saturday Feb. 3rd work for you folks?
