Featured Replies

yupI got the 5200, it was 139.99 at futureshop, but I had a card that took off 75 buck-a-roos...so I got it for a price within the 80s...it's an amazing card with low price, if you got an old 64mb, I would recommand uping to this one
Unwanted. Is that $140 you paid for American or Canadian?I went to Future Shop and the FX5200 is $130 Canadian. If you paid that in American. Then god help you.

whoops, missed the Canada part, my bad. Guess you did get a good deal. I dunno, my 5200 really gave my comp a big boost, i use to have to turn BF42 down really low to get passable framrates now i can have it at max detail without so much as a hickup, even online with 50 ppl and a merely ok PC. Of course, not even a Gefx could compensate for the crappy, inefficient graphical code in Star Wars Galaxies...
A GF FX 5200 is like a slowish TI4200 and DX9 features. It is a good card for the money.

i love my 5200, now i just have to update my aging 2000+ and add another 512 megs of RAM. Estimated cost: 100$ total, for both additions, god i love AMD and cheap RAM
Spend the money on a faster CPU.You will not see much difference in more ram unless you get DDR 4000 and overclock the FSB to the max.
now this is a jaw droper ,,an ATI Raedon 9800 vid card with 256 DDR,and it goes for 500+ tax
-WSAENOTSOCK]Is it just me or should this thread be in the Gaming Tips Tools and Overclocking?
