Maybe someone posted about this and I just missed it, and if that is the case I apologize, but has anyone been to the FA:S page recently? Looks like no one who has anything to do with that game in any form can behave in a mature fashion. Seems that the co-designer of the game has hijacked the project from the lead! Jackasses....

I saw it, but it doesnt look like it had a huge impact on the game. Only one person left, X^18 who was a mapper I believe. They are still in internal Alpha testing and the website is still up. They are not at www.firearms-source.com I don't think he hijacked it Defcon, I believe they're side of it.

 

Edit: All they lost from this is 3 maps which can be redone, another mapper can be hired.

I'd say the FA community is worse than the CS community, but FA has it's bright sides... it got The Armory it's start

My experiences with the Armory clan has allowed me to see what people are truly capable of doing on the internet, and just how a small segrated group can cause so much discontent amongst the ranks. E-Drama will always exist when there is a breakdown in communication ...its just that simple. Yes, even our own little group at the Armory had its own internal struggles, so it’s no surprise to see these guys with similar issues.

 

The good news is that most people do get along, and can work out issues like mature adults. Yes, most people are willing to conduct themselves appropriately, while others feel they can do a better without the support of the general consensus of the group, whatever that opinion may be.

 

The last group, for example, that left us, was the most self-serving group I have ever dealt with online. They formed a coalition of friends, a friendship based on one or two individuals hate and discontent for the establishment. They ended up segregating themselves from fellow clan members, and because of this, they ended up breaking the line of communication needed to make peace for all.

 

I personally have gotten to the point where I am losing faith in the internet, and the people in it. No matter how hard I try sometimes, I find you can never please everyone all the time. Some people will say one thing to your face, only to find out they are saying something different to others, and that’s what makes me sad.

 

I don’t know if Firearms will ever have the same impact it once had with many of us. There have been so many bitter battles over these types of issues, and I don’t feel they (mod makers) will ever be able to give back what we once enjoyed.

 

My only hope is that we get a game and return to the simple FPS we all once loved, or at least something close to it.

As for me, I plan on getting lost in Hellgate: London. It may not be a true FPS, but it has a lot of the same qualities. Plus, if FSS can pull off everything they've got planned, then it will be a great game to spend time with.

 

BF2142 isn't bad, yet it needs more work. I still find it fun to play and will probably continue to play until EA stops adding new content. But my money's in HG:L, which is due out sometime this summer.

I may be spoiling our hopes here, but with each drama and spin off mod from the original FA team and community, I think we are getting further and further away from what we want the new Source Firearms to be like.
