Possible Tweak of Rotation on NS server?

Featured Replies

I think it would be a good idea to only do one titan round per map, instead of the current two rounds per titan map. Playing the same map twice on titan is dull and boring, especially when it takes 45 minutes each round.

Right now you get two conquest rounds per map that take about 15 minutes each, if there is a good crowd. Then you can get stuck on the same titan map for almost an hour and a half. It just doesn't seem well balanced and it leaves Leipzig (best NS map in my opinion) with only thirty minutes of play time every three or so hours.

Additionally, only playing one round of titan is fair to each side because of the way Remagen and Bavaria are set up, no one side has an unfair advantage.

Just a thought...

Unfortunately, the server will not allow us to adjust each map individually. If you set the server for 2 rounds, all maps must be played for two rounds. We could, however, add more instances of a particular map.

The reason we play two rounds is that it gives all the players equal time on each side to get the various ribbons and such. This is up for discussion though. :D

Thanks for your input... :o

It's actually a global server setting how many times(rounds) you would like to play each map.

Well, as for me, I prefer Assault Lines over Titan with NS. I don't mind the occassional titan but they aren't what EA made them out to be. I thought they'd be different in NS but they really aren't.

I absolutely love Leipzig, Remagen in AL isn't bad either. But Titan on Port "Barf" gets old fast, even though AL on that map isn't as bad.

My question is that could we rotate the AL and Titan maps? Last night was kinda boring when I spent 2 hours on the same map. Playing Assault Lines AND Titan back to back using the same map was terribly dull. I was thinking maybe move the maps around a bit so that you aren't playing the same map back to back. Is that possible?

Exactly, I thought "urban titan maps, that'll be awesome"... when in reality you just spawn on your titan and pod down where ever you need to be, exactly like vanilla titan maps. The only difference is that you can snipe from the buildings, which is really not worthwhile because of the way the enemy can just pod down on you and come from any direction.

At one point on Remagen (when your titan is over the bridge) you can pod down on all five silos, which makes defending a waste of time unless you camp in a mech or APC, and even then an engineer will just pod behind you and its game over.

my only complaint of titan is my computer sucks and i can't play titan well(meaning without rubberbanding ect.ect.)
I still get that on my higher powered PC now, I'm not sure client power can fix that issue, K_town ><
i prefer AL over titan . Titan tends to end to fast after shields go down. or it is a stallmate and it is a repetative capture lose on the silos
