S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

;) -Looks like Freef is getting a new game.

:) -Ok, now...F.E.A.R. was FANTASTIC (caps lock worthy even:D) and made you scared to walk, watch security cams, go in/on/around elevators/ladders, and more. All with no threat to your char. Doom 3 was just crap popping up to startle you, but was in no way a true horror game. Given that info, is it more F.E.A.R.esque?

I found what I was looking for there is an entity that you have to kill in the room I'm in. On a side note I found out while looking for a tip or two on the game that its loosely based on a book called Roadside Picnic. A movie by a Andrea Tarkovski was later made also loosely based on the book called Stalker. I may have to grab the movie it looks pretty decent for its time.
Stalker isn't quite as scary as FEAR was, but it's got some of the same elements when you're in the underground labs or going through a building at night. You can get pretty freaked out in those places. I think it's got a good balance of creepy vs. jump out and scare you. I think the biggest difference is it doesn't have the ambient sound FEAR does.

Shoot them in the head. One shot, one kill, is a good rule for that game. Also stealth (crouch) a good weapon for that is the M4 + Silencer + Scope = dead snork, and most anything else...
the snorks are freaky, I had a few jumpy moments once when I was in the underground tunnels and one of those invisible creatures popped out and became visible in front of me unexpectedly. The next was the entity following me around and throwng stuff. When it first started it threw a jawbone at me and It was out of the blue. Scared the crap out of me. I'm on my way to the x16 lab to get intel, sounds like you guys are past that point.

Eh heh... have fun with that... The labs weren't my favorite.

Best weapon in the game (in my opinion) G36, hands down. They come with a scope, are readily available, don't break down much, almost no recoil, and a crazy fire rate. The only M4 I ever got that Deli is describing though was modified to be a sniper rifle, so the fire rate was next to nothing on it. :)

Other than that, the Tunder is a formidable weapon towards the end of the game, and at the very end, the SC20k.
