August 24, 200322 yr Well my wife made me move my computer out of the bed room where I was all hard wired into my router  but to keep the peace I did  . Anyway ever since we moved into our new house everyone in the house has internet on 802.11b with me being the lone expection to the rule. Well the corner I was vanished to with my computer didnt have any way of getting eithernet to my puter exept through the air so I bit the bullet and bought a WMP11 which is the linksys PCI card with antenna. I left my router in the bed room and get good reception for the most part but I was wondering if any of you guys had tried the USB version and how well you liked it. I looked and both and spent $10 more dollars on this PCI version cause I figured it had more bandwidth but I couldnt help thinking about....Now how fast is USB again? The 802.11b can only hit 11Mbit and my internet is rated 1.5Mbit wich I only see about 1.2 but thats another story. I was wondering would it really matter? The advantage I see over the WUSB11 (linksys) is that I could get it up higher and "maybe" get a better signal. BTW I am getting about 87/87 signal/qauilty. This is what I got today for my computer: http://linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=36&prid=196 Here is the USB I am thinking about trying: http://linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=36&prid=435 What do you guys think?

August 24, 200322 yr Author Well I have DSL so all I really need is a phone jack run to the wall I am on but I dont feel like crawling under the house and doing it. It is easier to buy a $59 WiFi card. BTW qaulified ....ah maybe not but I know enough to be dangerous with some wires
August 25, 200322 yr Author Ok I had some problems with the PCI card today so I have not been on the server much. Well I took it back to the store and got the USB....it is even worse. I went from around 1250/215 on my connection to 800/200. I cant deal with that not to mention continued dropped connections. Anyway I am going to be around some but it may be a few days before I play much. I am going to get a buddy to run me some cat5 cable and make me a jack right from the telephone bock to my new corner! Think I am going to go for the gold connectors and so forth.
