April 18, 200718 yr http://www.transgaming.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=2&meid=-1 Cedega- allows a linux box to play windows games right out of the box! So they say! I do not know if it works perfect yet. For I have not personally tested it yet. But this sounds very promissing...
April 18, 200718 yr what would put Linux really on the map is being able to load and play DX 10 games withe the manufactures making drivers for Linux wow that would be a Death blow for Vista I visit STEAM web forum and there is like a 40 reply thread with over 1500 views of people that are dissatisfied with Vista and its performance ..I counted like 5 people that bought Vista and DELETED it and went back to XP with no support for XP starting next year and the Banning of XP OEM copies being sold its going to gradually force everyone to switch to Vista. Of coarse you have your old copy of XP but there will be NO support for it next year....ohh fun:)
April 19, 200718 yr I got Vista, don't want it, don't want to pay for XP Pro, so I guess I'm stuck. Advice, avoid Vista until it is forced upon you. That is all.
April 19, 200718 yr hmm good to see cedega moving forward. Ubuntu linux with Beryl desktop rocks. The beryl eye candy is very slick. I just installed vista on my laptop because it was a free upgrade and so far I'm not that impressed. Aero Glass has nothing on Beryl. So now if I can play some of the newer games decently with cedega I wont be dual booting hehehe!
April 19, 200718 yr -Linux ownz, all I need windows for is gaming at the moment...This would so kill windows...oh...i am so happy... <---look at all that happy...LOOK AT IT!!!!

April 19, 200718 yr Freefall you like my quote in my sig  -lol yeah, I made mention of it in Weihe's BDay post
April 19, 200718 yr Author btw cedega is not free its a service 5 bucks a month was just checking it out... and some folks are making complaints. they said 50000 peeps were banned from WOW because they were using cedega and a friend said its a pain in the butt to use so i dont think its perfect yet...
April 20, 200718 yr yep may not be perfect but its a start, I knew about the five dollar a month fee, if it can do 2142 then its worth it to me. Wine is supposedly mature enough to run WOW, also crossover the alternative to cedega runs WOW. One of the Linux Action show podcasts talked about getting WOW working and I think he said it was running fairly well, not great but enough to be playable.
