April 23, 200718 yr "One-third of the U.S. diet depends on pollination, mostly by honeybees" -But, how can I become a true American if I have to eat two BigMacs per day instead of three...Oh, right, bees do not pollinate cows LOL -Well, it is the end of the world...it has been a good run guys...

They pollonate the vegetables that are the pickles, they pollonate the tomato's that go into the ketchup
April 23, 200718 yr they may not pollonate the "cows", but they pollonate the crops that go into making the buns. They pollonate the vegetables that are the pickles, they pollonate the tomato's that go into the ketchup -two words...MEATLOAF!!!, BAM!
April 23, 200718 yr -two words...MEATLOAF!!!, BAM! The food or the singer? Either way, their both rubbish
April 23, 200718 yr I read about this earlier. They said it could be due to the signal from cell phones. It interfers with the way the communicate with eachother as well as their navigational skills as well.
April 23, 200718 yr yeah yeah yeah.. its the same as all the "global warming" crap thats flying around after Al Bore made that crappy movie, it fluctuates each year, dropping one and rising the next.. its the same as teh hurricane season.. 2005, 29 storms, large numbers of them turning into hurricanes of reasonable magnitude.. all the scientists crying global warming, and El Nino and its effects citing that it will only get worse and worse over the next 5 years bla bla.... 2006, 9 storms, 5 hurricanes of negligable magnitude, no whines about warming or El nino any more.. go figure, next year they will be up again.. and this will all have blown over.
April 23, 200718 yr Or... we can do it manually!!!a??? I can't give up on my mobile or burgers or whatever implication is! just an ideea:)
April 23, 200718 yr what funny is i live in the Central valley of Cali and i see no prob with bee's i see all the orchards full of fruit and bee's still in their hives so as long as the CV is good 80%+ of the worlds fruit is fine:D BTW in 70's TIME Magazine said we where going into an ICE AGE now its global warming i have little belife that Humans have a Grand impact on the weather or Nature for that matter besides the obvious removal of rain forest which to me isnt a big deal most the Oxygen comes from Diatoms in the ocean after all all the evolutionist said that there was no life at all til some Metoer fell into the ocean with some Amino acids on it that started all the life that we know of. anyways i am just saying life has its cycles and we just flow with it i know its been hot but we have had MANY MANY worse summer and draughts remeber the Dust bowl? era i think that was a dry time F the media in trying to scare people in think the worlds gona end when that times comes it will be well prob from humans and a NUKE or two
April 23, 200718 yr bees ?, AHHHHHH BEES AHHHHHHHH THERE STINGING ME Great now some clown is gonna make a movie about it watch we have movies about global warming, volcano's, hard rain, ice ages, snakes on a plane. now coming to a theater near you Lack of bees the world may never be the same.

Probably end up a B movie.

Im not sure this will blow over my friend. This is serious stuff. The research is pretty straight forward.
April 24, 200718 yr Probably end up a B movie. -LOL, Hive-Five Im not sure this will blow over my friend. This is serious stuff. The research is pretty straight forward. -It is just the daily buzz because the news is bored...it will bee fine. Humans are really good at surviving, regardless of our own attempts against us. We will not fix the problem cell phones are causing because they make money...we will find a way to survive with out bees. I know plenty of people that can cut back on their diet by a third and still feed a small nation.

How can you ignore the scientific consensus? It is a fact that green house gases are being released into the atmosphere unnaturally. It is a fact that ice shelfs in the arctic and antarctic are breaking off. It is a fact that the ozone layer has a hole that is increasing in size. It is a fact that temperatures around the world are increasing. It is a fact that glaciers are melting. It is a fact that the Coral Reefs are dying. It is a fact that villages in the Phillipines are now under water. It is a fact that there is global climate change. I am from Colorado, and my home city hasn't seen snow like it did 15 years ago. We also had daily monsoons, every night in the summer. I remember, it would screw up our plans to go to Elitchs or Water World. We are currently in a statewide drought that started more than 10 years ago. Every year, I see the snow pack in the Mountains. I work in the Mountains in the summer, and travel all over Colorado every month. This year was especially surprising. For most of the winter, the mountains in Vail were dry. No snow caps at all. The only place that had snow was the slopes, and that was made artificially. I have seen the Arkansas River go from full flow to barely a stream in just a matter of years. I used to ride the river trails on my mountain bike weekly and I could see the drastic difference.
April 24, 200718 yr How can you ignore the scientific consensus? I'm afraid there's no scientific consensus... see for example: http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2007/02/fraser-institute-fires-off-a-damp-squib/
April 24, 200718 yr -We are doing some damage...not a lot. The climate change is normal, The Earth has cycles within cycles...yearly cycles, decade cycles, century cycles and more. The ice shelves always fall apart, they make icebergs. http://www.edie.net/news/news_story.asp?id=8981 --> ozone hole 20% smaller since last year. The only reefs that are dying are the ones humans/tourists can get to...not because of climate. So...fact fact fact fact...with proof, is a better way to go about arguing. oh, and aliens are causing global warming http://www.crichton-official.com/speeches/speeches_quote04.html ...LOL -Here is a FACT heh: According to Singer's data, which came from various entities, including the U.N.-based Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, temperatures did warm from about 1850 until 1940, but have dropped ever since despite the spike in industry after World War II. Based on studies of ocean sediments, the temperature has been gradually cooling for about 3,000 years. During the last 20 years, a period in which many have suggested evidence of warming from the greenhouse effect, various methods of measurement have provided conflicting data, Singer said. Sensors that measure surface and ocean temperature have recorded temperature increases, while satellite and balloon weather equipment have showed no warming.
April 24, 200718 yr Dirdy, periods are you friend . yea i just type without them lol i am a i got my degree in chemistry not found of typing.
April 24, 200718 yr Freefall is my new hero. I rofl'ed at "Hive-Five" Really I think that if this bee thing does turn into a consistent problem, somebody will get rich with the invention of a pollinator machine. I am not worried about it. Oh and Wellsy, the article said that the lost bees do not affect all crops. He said stuff like fruit and nuts. Hell, Wheat, cucumbers, and tomatos might not be effected by this at all.

It means heavy winters for the north and acutaly snow for the south. the last major ones were during the black plague french revolution and the civil war. they say are we are do for one anytime soon. this increase in temp is normal and nonthing to worry about.
