August 26, 200322 yr It just occured to me that FA will no longer be upgraded after the 2.8 patch or HL2. It saddens becuase I think the game will fall out of favor because of the new mega-optioned mods and games coming out. I hope someone takes up the opportunity to keep FA going in one way or another. Because there is no way in (choose a word) that I am converting to CS or some other (who hacks better) game. Just a thought -PUNISHER
August 26, 200322 yr The makers of FA are deciding what to do, and right now they have a seperate mod in the making, right now for HL1, but will very likely be ported. FA may also be ported. Not right when HL2 is released, but very likely within a year.
August 27, 200322 yr a year is a long time and a lot of stuff would have to be done to take advantag eof the new engine all the maps would have to be redone with new testures and more stuffi dobt they will just make it playable on hl2 cause why bother if it wont have any new featureslet them decide what to do. all else fails we have to find a new mod

August 27, 200322 yr in order for FA to even be ported overit would require the code be somewhat dismantled and all hl related code would be replaced with hl2 codemappers would have to somewhat redo mapsmodels would have to be redonekeep in mind, this is just for a portin order to fully convert it over, would essentially mean that FA would have to be totally rewritten and redone, maps recreated, etcwhich is why the answer about a potential port was "if we did it, it would be life FA, but it wouldn't"because FA would have be totally redone, which takes timelines of code alone now are tens of thousands, split amongst numerous files. add in hl2, that number can easily double
