The FBI and Secret Service were notified of him after

somebody saw him testing the virus and called the authorities.

 

Symantec has estimated the number of more than 500,000 computers to

be damaged or infected worldwide.

I had that virus :twisted: :evil:

Fortunatly I didn't get it.Hey didn't The Armory server get hit by it?

Not that I know of.

One way of knowing is that if you caught it you probably will have a file

in your Windows\System32 directory called msblast.exe

 

Do a search in your windows directory.

 

And also goto http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.html

The ports that Blaster and LoveSan (the anti-blaster thats suppost to be a good virus) are here.

I have setup my firewall to block these ports inbound and outbound.

Actually he isn't the original author of the virus, he made a modified version of it that affected a few thousand computers though.

ah ok, that could help. how would one go about doing that?

I reformatted my entire system and I had partitioned it into 3 drives.

 

I first install 98 on C:\ and XP on E:\

 

XP will automatically setup the system to dual boot.

 

Microsoft gives the order in which to install the OS so that you can dual boot

with as many of the Windows\DOS OS versions as you want.

k. tks ill be sure to look into that.

you can also modify boot.ini and have it auto boot, changing the delay

Just go get yourself a good virus program with a firewall you will be just fine
