Is his record going to be legit or not? Do you think steroid use should nullify the record if indeed he used steroids?

Oh ya, for the noobs, if you have to ask "what record" then just don't reply here. LOL.

steroid use is so rampant in many of the official sports leagues, i wouldnt be surprised if many of the records being broken now days can be attributed to steroid or growth hormone use. so i say let him keep the record, in the end its just a little stat, he probably wont be too proud of how he achieved the stat when his organs start failing on him later in life, although i dont wish that happens to him, it is very likely

Exactly, having your name scribbled in a record book won't mean much when you're dead in your fifties from heart failure.

:D -I don't watch hockey..

:) -LOLOL!

^_^ -Seeing as there is no proof for how long he has been using them, if that is the case, I think they should wipe his record...that would be a hell of a powerful message to the other players, "nobody is immune".

To be honest I really dont like Bonds dont know why but I do, maybe cause I am a Diamondbacks fan anyway.lol I dont think It should be counted even though now a days every player uses steroids especially the older guys cause they need to keep up with the younger guys. So no he shouldnt get the record but if you think about it then some of the players that broke other records shouldnt get it cause I am sure they did steroids. ^_^
I gotta tell ya I've met Henry Aaron a bunch when my dad was alive and he's the nicest man I've had the pleasure of meeting! I was even there at the the game in 74 when He beat the babes record (all i can remember is it was cold that night and the crowd got super loud I didnt even know why till later that night as to why ^_^ didnt know who the babe was till years later :D ) I dont know why it just wouldnt feel right if its proven bonds was using steroids it'd feel dirty somehow I dont know maybe its just because I've met Mr. Aaron...
Honestly I dont think steroids help that much, take me for example, I get all "juiced" up before I jump on the armory server and still get my A** handed to me.... but maybe things are different in different arenas. Anyone ever see Bonds live? That guy was the biggest Loafer on the field. I saw him a couple years back at an Astros game guy didn't even finish trotting to first when popped one to mid right field ^_^ So to me doesnt really matter whether he should get the record or not he's just not a class guy and definitely not a role model. I guess Ill get off my soap box now :D

Bud Selig, the commissioner, should have been fired years ago for letting all of this get way out of hand. Harsher restrictions need to be enforced to help correct the damage done to the integrity of baseball.

I'm a Giants fan...but I have mixed feelings about Bonds. Recently, he's been putting a lot more effort into all of the facets of baseball (i.e. running out singles or infield outs, running harder on extra-base hits, and generally making the outfield catches he'd normally let drop). Plus, he doesn't come off as the arrogant person he used to all of these years. I heard him speak twice at the All-Star game and his speech was full of respect and, can you believe it, modesty. I've even seen him joking around with players in the dugout during the Dodger series [don't remind me] - which he never ever did.

However, I'm still 87% convinced he has used steroids. They won't help him hit the ball, but once he does make contact, the steroids will no doubt allow him to hit it over the fence.

The question about whether or not the record should be stricken is tough. If he is ever to test positive for an illegal substance, then yes, I'm all for it. But before that happens, baseball needs to get its act together and put into place a strict and aggressive plan in finding and punishing the athletes that choose to cheat.

Steroid use should not be allowed. I took them a long time ago and it literally doubles your strength. There is a reason why they boost horses with steroids for horse races. It's a bunch of bull that its not to enhance performance.

Bah Bah Barry and the Juice.

Sung to Benny and the Jets.

Nullified.

No difference than Pete Rose.

Isn't it like a cheat in any way you look at it ? People "use" to enhance different abilities, especially in sports ? What if we all start to take steroids ?

Meanwhile different substances are banned in many sports, one gimnast at one time had her medal questioned because she had an aspirin. I say he should be stripped cause' he definitely knows the rules.

Barry Bonds is a singer/songwriter now?! SIGN ME UP FOR THAT ALBUM, BABEH!

If he actually used/uses steroids, the record absolutely should be dropped IMHO.

It just kind of sounds like, you know, a record -- like a music record. So I had to make a joke. I phail'd. =[

185 pounds to 250. Some people could do it without steroids, it just depends on your genes, but it is suspicious when a baseball player does it and all of a sudden he is a home run hitting machine where he used to be a great speed guy.
