September 5, 200718 yr if all gave some, then how did some give all if they only gave some? Ripper to answer your question, the quote is part of a Military/Patriotic slogan used for many years. Its "All Gave Some, but Some Gave All" Its meaning is of encouragement to help soldiers to whom have served and whom will serve. It means all who have served gave some of their lives, and some people gave it their all meaning they died serving you, me, and everyone else in this country! Theres loads of info about this I havent said cause its pretty hard to talk about! If you search google on that quote you'll find theres 199000000 links on it... I hope this gives you some idea about what it means. I just tried to answer as short as possible to help our younger patrons understand If someone else wants to edit this please do for I am no wordsmith

September 6, 200718 yr Oh I didn't really care. It just didn't make sense. I'm also not an American, nor do I support the war. Thats fine an dandy Ripper but the quote has nothing to do with war but standing behind the men and women who serve your country and the last time I heard Canada has military too! Its not just a(n) American (BTW Canadians are American too there part of North America right?) Idealism.
