I'm not sure how many people here get the EA newsletters and promos through their e-mail, but the latest one had some patch info. Here's the little blurb about 2142:

 

There are a number of weapon balances in 1.4 as well as an important "pod surfing" exploit fix. Of course there is also the aforementioned new map for 2142, Highway Tampa. The beta version has been really well received so far and the final version includes tweaks based on community feedback. We've recently released a second beta of the map which will run for about a week. Visit our site to pick up the new Battlefield 2142 1.4 Update beta 2 and let us know what you think in the forums! We'll be running this second beta phase for no more than a couple of weeks with the final patch to follow.

Ya, they are already making the shotgun almost unstoppable. Now they are adding the high powered pistol with a 50rd mag........

Don't forget the PK rocket attachment with the strength of 5 RDX explosives, with sniper rifle accuracy and fully automatic with 1000000000000+ round clip.

They don't care about this patch we will never see it. They're concentrating on Crysis now. BF 2142 is as good as dead
