  1. dear Lord... please tell me you're exxagerating... please....
  2. Steam is the new program through which all Half-Life-related stuff will ultimately happen. Valve announced that the wonID system will no longer be in use in 2 - 3 weeks, thus forcing everyone to download Steam. 1) http://www.steampowered.com for info and the D/L. do NOT use a mirror that makes you wait in line, the file is not big enough to wait. If none of the mirrors have it immediately available, PM me, and maybe I'll send it to you. 2) http://forums.firearmsmod.com read up on it FIRST, before installing. Unfortunately, many people (including myself, and I know everything!) have been having problems installing steam, so you'd be wise to learn from their mistakes before trying it yourself. Read the "Steam Support" forums and scan the "Main Hall" for steam-related topics. And remember, the only reason most of them hate Steam is because it's a Change from the Usual. Ignore their gripes and continue. 3) Install it. Good luck. It took me three tries to get it right, and I still don't know WHY it's right! 4) Unfortunately, I can't play Half-Life on wonID servers now. It crashes! Others haven't had this problem, but a few have. the firarmsmod forums offer much support if this does happen to you. Talk to them if you need anything, or use the #firearms channel on IRC (gamesNET). 5) Enjoy!

    haha! how fitting!
  4. [/url] this is the EPITOME of TA, norm. you would be wise to learn it.
  5. Ky please try this before opening your mouth again (you piece of crap)<blatant flame> Be happy I'm not in TA anymore, Norm, I'd so f'ing kick your ass out in a heartbeat. YOU are the TA member the rest of the FA community hates.
  6. speaking as a Musician, creator, artist... I think file sharing is the best thing to ever happen to the Arts.
  7. if I recall correctly, the -1 wonID has something to do with either DoD 1.0 or Steam
  8. Downloading music doesn't hurt the record industry. Here in Poland we have a place, when you can just wander in, buy pirate CDs 5 times cheaper than in the shops and police is doing nothing about it. And CDs in Poland are VERY expensive. I compared the prices. Buying the CDs from GB/USA is, with posting and package, much cheaper than buying one in Poland. Not to mention that Polish Post Office workers open the incoming packages and if they like something they take it and nobody cares about it. So either we get robbed, or...... we get robbed. As for the record industry, we dont give a <<CENSORED>>. Nobody cares here about anybodys rights to own anything. Whether is it music or a car. If somebody likes it, he takes it. Chances are good he will live his life out unhurt. Collective, one of the primary rules of Communizm, works better under free market of Capitalizm.Ky you wouldn't make in my neiboorhood even for a day, they would have punk slaped you and taken everything you had,,you would be sitting there butt naked crying " I want to go back to poland"*blink*... ...why are you even here?
  9. A) No, they're not suing their customers. that's EXACTLY what this whole thing is ABOUT, man! They're suing the people who are SHARING FILES, RATHER THAN BUYING CD's. 78% of statistics are made up on the spot. If you can't back up your percentages, don't post them. C) Petitions do little in regards to laws.
  10. did you know: one major label is dropping their prices to $12 for a cd (forgive me, i care not to look up which label, at the moment). it's not illegal, especially if the ISP is based in the US. Because the user is breaking the law, the aggresor has the right to know their identity. compared to the typical $150,000 per song fine, a flat $2000 is a "slap on the wrist". Also, the RIAA and MPAA are not here to make friends. They're here to make money. Currently, they believe they are losing money to such an extent that they are willing to go to court (and pay court and lawyer fees!) MULTIPLE, MULTIPLE times. When they realize that the future is in Digital media, their attitudes will change a bit. it's called "Devil's Advocate". It's great fun.
  11. i love you, you crazy Polish lug, you!

  13. they're getting the money back from the kids who have ripped thousands of dollars from artists. sure, she's only 12, but she still broke the law.
  14. you meant to know your feelings?
  15. Klif replied to Sterling Morrison's topic in Main Hall
it runs fine in Mozilla (the heart of Netscape)
  16. yeah, that's the Matt I remember. don't be an ass, dude.
  17. ah, but the Firearms community seems to dislike Steam, so I doubt you'd get a lot of FA steamers if any server were to go Steam.
  18. Klif replied to PUNISHER's topic in Main Hall
no, punisher, that's not what they're saying at all. To get the most skill points, you must: Cap points Destroy objects Kill players higher than you on the psychostats Also, if you're the best (for example) Medic, you get extra skill points.
  19. Sounds a bit like the cover of Red Fraction IIfeh? *gets out his red faction CD* PEWP! forget i said anything. *dies*
  20. the middle X-box logo has a black background. your image has a black background. these two blacks do not match, and you can see the difference.
  21. issues of colour aside, as I know themes can be changed, etc... I liked the old forums better.
  22. any MOD can be accessed through steam (so says Valve). however, a steam-connected FA game cannot play against a HL-connected FA game. search the Firearms Forums for this exact same discussion.
