I agree with the decision to have the Gators in the bowl, Michigan had their shot (albeit on our field) and couldn't come up with a W. But, I am a firm believer that OSU and UM are the two best teams as of now. As someone else pointed out, it will may be a better game than most are predicting (not an OSU blowout). In 2002 OSU was a big underdog to the Miami Hurricanes and they come out with a win in double OT.

If I have the time to line up a shot, sure I go for the vents. But on a map like Tunis Harbor, typically I am sprinting into a hail of fire since the walkers like to hang back a bit. So I put on light armor, sprint under the belly and behind the walker-hop between its legs. I've managed to down a number of them before biting the big one from someone's Voss.

Each bullet does 1 damage if you hit the vent/grating on their butt. I've done this many times (my most kills are on walkers and tanks). Pop an EMP mine down and hop around to get 2 pilum shots into him, then break out the SMG and unload. I can solo walkers that panic and don't try to "sit" on me. Now that I've unlocked the Pilum, motion mines and extra SMG clip I can defend a flag like crazy from anything not carrying an assault rifle.

I have a druid on horde side Dentarg. Full Tier2 and most of the AQ stuff. I haven't played much since Naxxramas came out though. I do have the Tier3 bracers though... o.O!

Engy. I just love the AT rifle, although I can't kill anyone at range with the SMG.

2142 has its quirks, but the balance and gameplay overall are way above BF2. Since EA went sci-fi, it allows for better overall balance due to people not having "real life" expectations.

I went the same route as you Klink. I actually use the PDS-1 a lot. On maps like Berlin, just set the sonar device near the corner of the first flag and you can see all of the vehicles before they turn the corner. The range really isn't that bad. But the unlocks on that tree are just a way of making the gun worth 4 points. I LOVE the AT sniper rifle. I went: Nades (duh) Sprint 1 and 2 (duh... I run away a lot) Engineer tree up to Koenig Next unlocks: Extra SMG clip (since I use engy all the time) Extra nades right side of engy up to the super duper repair gun I typically apply to be commander and sit back a bit so i can run to repair the commander crap. Or I run around 1 flag back and repair tanks and walkers if they'll let me. The Koenig makes short work of buggies if they come to cap back flags.

Huh? The left tree unlock for engineer (the rail gun thing) is awesome. It doubles as a sniper rifle with a 1 shot kill. Now the default rocket launcher... that sucks big time.

I don't get it either. I struggle to break 20 points. I'm not the most skilled player, but really now. I try and stick near a squad leader, head to defend/attack whatever section is targetted...etc etc. I heal, I carry ammo... and rarely EVER get points for that?! Ah well, I just enjoy shooting crap anyways.

Is anyone here familiar with Excel macros? I have a few very long data sheets that I want to move/transpose some data to organize it and I have no clue how to do anything beyond simple macros. If so, PM me with whatever email address I can send an example to with an explanation of what I am trying to do. Thanks

I definitely say try all of them for a bit. My main complaint with BF2 was always being stuck on Warlord.

No problem. I had a similar problem when I installed MS Flightsim 9. They pointed that site out and I've kept it bookmarked. =P

I am impressed with the performance of it. I'm running at 1920x1200 with settings on med-high and I get better FPS and less lag than BFV or BF2. I wasn't sure about the whole sci-fi thing, but it allows for better balance due to the fact that they can just "make it up". Finally gone are the completely dominating airplanes...etc. The walkers are kind of cool, but still die pretty fast to concentrated fire. Tanks could use a bit of a boost IMO, they get brought down by pretty much anything in a hurry. At least for now, the lack of grenades is awesome. Too bad they are an unlock. It actually allows for some type of defense since cover provides you with actual protection instead of a blind spot for grenades to get you.

Use these installers (especially the Feb 2006 one for BF2142!!) to install any missing DLL files. It us MUCH faster than reinstalling all DX. http://www.toymaker.info/Games/html/d3dx_dlls.html
