Game, America's Army?
I've played it. Finished all courses (including SF), but my gaming experience was shattered, when new version came out and demands rocketed over my computer specs. I was god with RPK... i was accused of cheating several times Overall it is a good game, although when there is a person on one team that knows it by heart (and knows where to aim his M203), then it is getting pretty much boring - unless the guy is dead by accident, the game gets one-sided.

My new computer...
I have KB, i have mouse (but i will need a new one that's true). Monitor comes next month - i will be needing an expert opinion on monitor btw. And yes - a desk, but they are cheap as dirt (E30). Nim cokolwiek kupię do grania w sieci, muszę najpierw mieć dobrą kartę bezprzewodową - taką, która nie będzie ciągle zrywać połączenia.

Do You ever wonder, why any 'uncomprehensible and seemingly difficult' language is immediately labeled 'polish'?

From sunny(???) Ireland
I haven't really been thinking about that. And i don't mind being here. I wouldn't mind coming back to Poland either. I'm just here, and it's good.

From sunny(???) Ireland
http://phys.ucc.ie/~sergey/pictures/pict6377.jpg <- therein lies the picture of the Optoelectronics and Non-Linear Dynamics Research Group of Tyndall National Institute in Cork. It's a mixed polish-russian-french-irish happy group. My supervisor (and the chief of departament) is the one dead in the center (white shirt). Ain't we a lovely bunch? Anyway, for an update. Curently i am struggling to lower the noises and boost the signal level of photoreflectance experiment. Once that is over (if possible), we will make a call to University of New Mexico and they will send me samples (wafers) and lasers. The samples are antimonide-based quantum dots (type-II semiconductor heterostructures), which will operate at 1.3 micrometer (the first open-air communication window). My PhD should comprise of their study. It may not sound like a time-consuming job, but it is doubtfull, that it will take me less than 3 years. And don't be fooled by the sunny atmosphere in the pic. Today, as i was walking to the lab, atlantic has greeted me with a wall of water... PS. It's not that i don't frequent TA forums anymore. I visit it 2 times a day (apart from weekends). It's just that i rarely have an oportunity to write anything, becouse of the work.

Finally a new computer!!!!
Phrogg -> www.abandonia.com There You can find not only UFO: Enemy Unknown, but also tons of other old DOS games, most of which are fogotten, but are patched to work under XP. To some the DOSBOX will be required though. jrepo1 -> Yes, the original Scorched Earth. Also available on the above site. Macgyver -> E1250/month. Minus E300 rent and some bills. Currently, i am saving heavily for a new digital piano, after whih the time will come for a brand NEW 'NEW' computer.

Finally a new computer!!!!
I never thought, that i would get a new computer so fast after arriving to Ireland. But, exactly 2 months after the arrival, my new computer arrived and was installed at my place. The specs are: Processor: Pentium III 733 MHz RAM: 128 MB Graphics card: Riva TNT/TNT 2 Pro 32 MB Sound card: On-board AC97 CD-ROM: Present, but specs unknown Well, that's about it. It may sound bad, but Windows XP SP2 works extraordinary well. AND, the most important thing: old games, like UFO: Defence, Worms (THE ORIGINAL), Scorched Earth and such REALLY WORK even without the need of DOSBOX or such. And, oh yes, one another thing: i got it FOR FREE (well, i had to pay E18 for two power cables, but that was that).

After a gruesomwe battle
Polish folk in Ireland after a gruesome match of paintball. Me - standing 5th from right. I got hit in the head one time (a lump remains), but i still got lucky. One of us got hit in the head from 50cm distance. He had to go to hospital today and he'll be out from work for 3 next days thanks to that incident (some irish idiot just shot him from that distance). Oh yes.... my team WON 2:1. I don't know if i ever hit anyone - my gogles were pretty much a target practice of everyone and i didn't see anything 80% of the time. But i've captured the point that enabled us to win the final battle (actually i was one of the seven, but...). Now i know why i DON'T want to go to the army. But next match? Sure, why not? It still hurts....

Live from Ireland
The weather is (surprisingly) not that wet. For the most the last week taking a raincoat was a waste, not to mention it was hot as an oven. Right now the weather's 'stabilized'. Computer..... piano comes first.
