  5. thats right... leave it to Canada to clean up the bugs... just like afganastan well if dice canada is like ubisoft montreal, then you should expect a clean game (ubisoft montreal put out splinter cell/pandora tomorrow and published farcry btw)

yeah, they say 2gb and dual core is looking like a must for it too. i believe i heard it was to be the first where the desktop is fully rendered by the video card now (since it went vector). so yeah, if you think XP is a resource hog... dont expect your computer to be any faster.
  7. well... the fact final fantasy is going xbox360 also doesnt help sony. that leaves what? metal gear solid.... well sony is screwed.
  8. probably not, it will be like mac, no one will want to write software around it *expanding on blu-ray* http://gear.ign.com/articles/691/691408p1.html end
  9. why is sony doing such stupid stuff? 1. blu-ray format? expensive, modding community hates that, and it will force higher prices for games. ntm the fact... how many multi dvd disk games are there even now. not enough to justify needing larger capacity disks. the only reason they have this is for the built in copywrite. 2. their fancy 7 cell cpu? first of all sony is known for putting something on paper then under delivering in the end. next... why? really why? 3. $$$$? omg they say potencially pushing 1000$ now? who the hell would be stupid enough to pay that... its not like the screens from the ps3 games even look any better than the x360.... Its been predicted that it would be delayed because of the copyright issues in the blu-ray and the too expensive manufacuring cost... why they are 'putting their cart infront of the horse' i dont know. blu-ray isnt in yet, you cant force it into a market like this either. dvd was around almost 10 years before dvd players 'came into play' (no pun intended). scrap the stupid junk sony! no-one wants your copyprotection hardware anyhow! jump on the bandwagon and start making some money again. end.

flash is definatly vector based, but fireworks has very minimal vector tools. th layers and pallete system is what seperates adobe from macromedia the most, and thats why i dont like switching back and forth between the two. if your used to one program, then i can see why you wouldnt like the other one. i only really use adobe for editing my RAW photos since that is the only thing macromedia doesnt support >:/ cmon studio 9! wait... adobe bought macromedia... ahhhh.... macromedia is so screwed. one thing that Adobe does suck at (this is a proven fact) is web page design. Adobe go live cs2 creates so much unwanted code it isnt funny, and it also parcially supports CSS (cascading style sheets). it was ranked 3 below dreamweaver >.< i sure hope adobe doesnt butcher dreaweaver.

    >.< have fun, ill be lazy... btw... adobe illustration is an example of a true vector based program. *and the biggest resource hog known to man.
  16. kAd replied to Nadril's topic in Main Hall
fireworks is byfar definatly not a vector graphics program. And as soon as you export it with a reduced color pallet, it will be like 4 colors. so take that.

are you using photoshop to do it? i can see the problems with using ps.. my suggestion would be to use fireworks 8. you can reduce your vector drawings to 1 point hard rendering everything pixelated when you draw it. then you can use the gradient to fill and when you export just reduce your color pallet. this is extremly easy in fireworks since it is made especially for reduced file sizes for web.... unlike photoshop which is more for precise photoediting. you can download a 30day trial here: http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ i have adobe cs2 and macromedia studio 8 and for pixel art i would definatly go with fireworks because its so easy to export in it! hope this helps ya get some pixel art done quick >.<

the xbox360 will put all other consoles to shame... oblivion looks great on it. i have to think of how farcry looked when it came out on pc... it was amazing to say the least... and it still looks great, but the tech demo of the farcry on the 360 puts it to shame. i wonder if the pc version is going to be a graphically stripped down version of the xbox360 one? if it isnt, its going to take a couple years before pc's taht can run it max gfx to be compairable to the 360.

well, we wont be seeing any baby bears any time soon
  20. i can see why the pokemon games were so successful though.... they were easy to learn, TONS of replay, sequels were easy to push out, and people could exchange their unique pokemon with each other. instead of saying pokemon is teh suk, you guys should be examining what makes the franchise so successful... you should be looking at everything like that. you might end up with your own theme park in 20 years >.<
  21. having backups of what you already own is not illegal, but bypassing copy protection is. so it doesnt matter if you own a copy or not, its still illegal if you/your software bypasses any copy protection. dvdxcopy argued this... and lost. even though you had to agree that it wasnt rented or borrowed, the software still bypassed copy protection. that caused it to be taken off the shelves.
  22. thats what is believed, but accually, anything that bypasses the copy-protection (whether you own it or not), its still considered illegal. its a touchy subject, but that is what is offically on paper.
  23. this is at a resort near me (in canada) http://www.ezinteractive.ca/publisher/uploads/138/1138717405/Aerial%20Shot%20Canada%20Pond%20Hockey.jpg
