Eve Of Destruction
OOOOHHHH A SANDY!! You know, the Napalm they used in Nam would stick to anything and burn anywhere even underwater. My dad told me when they would Nape the shoreline on the Mekong kinda close to their PBR (close = several hundred yards) it would suck the oxygen right out of the air and make it hard to breath. But it looks cool and I might be up for some of that. I also toyed with it when it first came out for BF1942.

Anyone for some WW2?
Go here: http://forgottenhope.warumdarum.de/main.php?lang=english On the left side of the page go to downloads. You can get as a 2 part DL or the full one at the top of the list. Read the home page on that website and it will walk you through to sign up for the Forgotten Honor campaign. Just make shure you pick the Normandy campaign. I'm in the 745th Tank Battalion 1st Infantry Division, Allied. If you wanna be in the same unit as me...

Anyone for some WW2?
Yes its a BF2 mod, the mod is really cool, some stuff to get use to but all around very cool. The Forgotten Honor campaign is cool but they don't play like we normaly do. Units group in large numbers b4 they attack, the tanks support the infantry for the most part, spotters hide and call in arty. Some TKs happen because lack of comms between the units Inf to tanks and such, but its not so bad that you lose a ton of points. But is very fun if you like the realistic troop movements but it does take alot of time. If you wanna check out the mod but not the campaign I can run you through some of the particulars like getting into the aim view on the tanks and anti tank guns and stuff.

Anyone for some WW2?
I signed up to play the Forgotten Hope campaign "Forgotten Honor, Normandy". They're calling it a Tournament but its not like a clan on clan type of deal. It looks really cool, I went Allied and am in the process of getting into the tank battalion. They have Infantry, Para Inf, Arty, Tank, and Anti-Tank, if I remember correctly. It looks like they structured it very well. I'll try it out, if its done well enough and its fun I'll let ya'll know! Heres the site BTW! http://www.forgottenhonor.com/index.php

Thought to mention!
We can only hope that someday they will bring the Bush administration to justice for letting it happen so they could get their war. Any progress on convicting Tony Blaire?

Patch 1.5 your opinion
BF2 is old this is why I play the mods, but I'm finicky I get board pretty quick so I gotta keep it fresh. CoD MW2 gonna have vehicles? Been messing with the single player on Forgotten Hope 2.2 and I must say as a WW2 history buff, I like it!

Memorial Service for a true Hero
This is an email I got from my father about 3 weeks ago and when I read it I wanted to share it with all of you. I just don't have the words to describe how I felt when I read this... We're hearing a lot today about big splashy memorial services. I want a nationwide memorial service for Darrell "Shifty" Powers. Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry. If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the History Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them. I met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn't know who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble reading his ticket. I offered to help, assured him that he was at the right gate, and noticed the "Screaming Eagle", the symbol of the 101st Airborne, on his hat. Making conversation, I asked him if he'd been in the 101st Airborne or if his son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st. I thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served, and how many jumps he made. Quietly and humbly, he said "Well, I guess I signed up in 1941 or so, and was in until sometime in 1945 . . . " at which point my heart skipped. At that point, again, very humbly, he said "I made the 5 training jumps at Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . . . . do you know where Normandy is?" At this point my heart stopped. I told him yes, I know exactly where Normandy was, and I know what D-Day was. At that point he said "I also made a second jump into Holland, into Arnhem." I was standing with a genuine war hero . . . . and then I realized that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day. I asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France, and he said "Yes. And it's real sad because these days so few of the guys are left, and those that are, lots of them can't make the trip." My heart was in my throat and I didn't know what to say. I helped Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in Coach, while I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up out of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I'd take his in coach. He said "No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that there are still some who remember what we did and still care is enough to make an old man very happy." His eyes were filling up as he said it. And mine are brimming up now as I write this. Shifty died on June 17 after fighting cancer. There was no parade. No big event in Staples Center. No wall to wall back to back 24x7 news coverage. No weeping fans on television. And that's not right. Let's give Shifty his own Memorial Service, online, in our own quiet way. Please forward this email to everyone you know. Especially to the veterans. Rest in peace, Shifty. "A nation without heroes is nothing." Roberto Clemente
