oooh, and you have to switch between then, so your gun switch speed in fa is as fast as you can switch them on your desk I am definitely going to buy the knife version. :mrgreen:

I always talk about it but the greatest Lister moment was when we were playing MP in FAL season III. We had MP pinned back at the supply camp and it was a pitched battle right there, nades and bullets flying every where. I just watched lister hop this one sandbag right into their defenses and then disappear. Next thing we know, 3 knife kills appear on the screen. Funniest thing ever - an assualt knifer in FAL. I don't know what the big deal with camping is...I mean if you are effective where you are, why not stay there? In matches or in pubs, there is no reason to move once you have them pinned down.

Ok, woah. I rarely camp, I'm always on the go no-scoping (or trying to) and assaulting. Sure in pubs, we all try that. But in matches... 8) (unless para haxes and does that in matches )

Thank you. Here is my opinon on the m82 as a sniper. It is OK to use the M82 in the proper situation. Lets say my team has low reinforcements, brake out the m82 to get a gain on the other team. Or if it is a long distance map you need a long range rifle. That is understandable. But what Azn dose is not. To use a M82 when your team has 170 reinforcements at the beging of a game is flat out wrong. To start camping when a match starts just makes the game suck. Just because you are a sniper dose NOT mean you have to sit in a one sneaky spot with one gun the ENTIRE game. In fact a good sniper never stays in one spot for a long period of time. You get in a spot, either kill one or two (or get shot at) then move to another spot and repeat the process. Also you do not have to use a SNIPER RIFLE to be a sniper. You can use a SMG, AR, pistol, or MG to snipe. Every one knows they get picked off by a famas, that is sniping. I dont know if LFM is still a profound MG'er but when I played with him he would snipe people with an m60 like I was useing an SSG. But useing the M82 to just obtain more kills "I just took out half your team" as Azn wwould say is wrong. plain and simple. Sorry for being OTF but had to punch in my 2 cents. Its up to the player to do what he wishes with whatever weapon. Hell, if Azn kills half your team, then he deserves those kills. And if he stays in the same spot, so what? You will know where he is and be able to counter attack. I find nothing wrong with the way Azn plays, except for some of those shotgun kills. :roll: But unscoped accuracy is being nerfed big time in 3.0 so shouldn't be a factor anymore.

I find it hard to believe that the Famas has the highest recoil amount for any AR. My main gripe is the fact that the Famas can effectively kill at medium range on full auto like no other AR or SMG.

Very true. I believe with 3.0 that the unscoped accuracy for M82 will be cut down a lot, while the Famas appears to be unchanged. All SR unscoped accuracies are being cut down. Hopefully in 3.0 the bipod will be more effective...

Yes, this whole thing is fairly useless because the Famas will stay unchanged. I just wrote that post in frustration after a good deal of the server had purchased the famas. And for 3.0, I believe they are reducing AR accuracy so that SRs will be supreme at long range.

The Famas. A controversial issue that has endured through many releases of Firearms. Used by the elite of FA and those new to FA. Thought to be the devil by many, often defended by others. Your thoughts?For me, I consider it to be the most unbalanced weapon in Firearms. Statistically on our server, it nearly has double the amount of kills then the second ranked weapon. In game, if you are doing poorly, you can always grab full armor and a famas. This will easily bring your score back to an acceptable level. Why is this? Well its a combination of a few things.Firstly, the Famas magazine capacity is twenty-five rounds. Nothing out of the ordinary, the median magazine capacity in comparison to the G3A3 and AK47. Next is the very high rate of fire, which out does much of the competition. Accuracy is good, though a little low compared to other assualt rifles. At the cost of thirteen credits, players are able to purchase full heavy armor. This cost is actually quite low for what the weapon is capable of.Now at close range, it easily out does the competition with the very high ROF and damage values compared to any other weapon. Though an SMG can compete with its ROF, the damage for the famas out does the SMG in all situations. Magazine capacity ranks right up there with the SMGs as well. Considering cost and traditional styles of gameplay, the SMG user will have to compete with full heavy armor from the famas user. To deal with the Famas, one must use surprise and quick manual clay triggers.Medium range is where this gun really out does its counterparts. Though some choose to flip the switch to single shot at this range, many just rock and roll with full auto on. Surprisingly, full auto is pretty effective at medium range due to minimum recoil. Though you won't get multiple kills on full auto like this, it is more than likely that at least the initial target will go down. Assualt rifle users of other kinds will be forced to switch to single shot in order to accurately shoot back at someone at medium range. Famas has it beat here. Once the Famas starts to hit you, even though it may just be a little, the single shot return fire will be very unaccurate and uneffective due to the shake. You can't spray and hope for the best, so your only option is to escape and evade - that is unless the famas already killed you. The point of the matter is, the famas is effective at medium range with full auto - and most of the time rendering your single shot return fire useless.Many will point out that the damage is a lot less than many other weapons. But this really doesn't matter. Once you start to hit a player, damage is unimportant because that player will find it extremely hard to return accurate fire. And even then the famas is just several points behind its competitors. Plus, full auto at medium range increases the chance of gaining a headshot - which is usually one hit kill for most AR's.Long range is no exception with the famas. Of course you will have to use single shot, but so do all guns at this range. Recoil plays a huge part here (not more so than at medium range where it is essential). Acceptable accuracy and little recoil make follow up shots very quick and easy - unlike any other weapon in the game (well accept dragunov, but that is a different story). The same idea from the previous paragraph applys to this situation as well. Once the famas starts damaging you, it is very hard to return single shot fire accurately. Best bet is to take cover and try to surprise the person.At all ranges, the famas has proven it self very worthy and effective. Unfortunately, this issue appears to be unchanged with the nearing release of 3.0. Plus, it looks as if it may gain nomenclature compatability. A question that I have pondered for some time was whether or not the Famas was tailored specifically to be the best in FA (or atleast a top weapon if you don't agree). But that is an enitrely different issue and theory of mine that is even more interesting. Talk to me on MSN or vent to know more about that one... 8)
