actully I just played DoD on 800x600 with high detail on and had no snags besides lag...internet lag mind you.

(Note:Sorry for any spelling eerrors, I'm typing this fast so I can get back to doing other stuff)Hullo everyoneSome of you may have noticed that I was gone for a while...uh...disappeared.Well this is my story:We just installed the new motherboard and 800mhz cpu (it's way better than my old cpu, which was in the late 200s).We booted up the computer and BAM! It doesn't work. So, after about a week of yelling very bad words at the computer and threating to take it to the junkyard (which usually works for me when it crashs) we took it to the computer store. Day later, he said he had found the problem. It seemed that our fan wasn't big enough for the new processor, and that when the computer started up, it took an average 3 seconds to overheat, thus shutting itself down so it didn't shizzle. Blah blah blah and more blah...he installed new fan and we went home.While my dad was working on blah...blah being something I don't know...I went out to FutureShop and got me a new video card. It was a GForceFX 5200 256mb (or whatever that 200 number is). Believe me, anything is better than my old Gforce2 64mb.So now I'm back on with a pretty much full upgrade to play the newest games. Currently I'm re-installing all my games:Half life + modsUT2k3Battlefield 1942 + modsMorrowind Neverwinter NightsThose are the main ones I care about right now. Anyway, just wanted to say I'm back around...

ha... I really don't like Desert Combat. For me, it just doesn't seem as grand scale as normal BF or a fav mod of mine, Eve of Destruction. actully when I had the game I found it very lag free...and the multiplayer was probley the greatest thing ever! But your right, ever since EA reared its ugly head, everything hit the fan. Let me demostrate: 1.Endless supply of sports titles ensure, causing Wal-Mart shops to decide NHL 2003 or NHL 2002? 2.Ea envelopes Janes, turning the pride of the simulation community into a disgrace. Thousands of fans are put down when service is shut off 3.Ea envelopes Westwood (and this was the piss period) CnC, the games the definded a genre, become near budget-titles. 4.Whats next I swear if EA goes for Blizzard of Valve, I'll shoot myself. the only good thing to come from them was BF1942, and they didn't even make or interfer with that, they were too busy screwing over CnC I beat if Generals didn't have all that advertising and hype put up by magazines and such, then Generals would be in the bargin bin right now

oh that's really smart go off and ruin some shop owner's day (by smashing the store window or something) just so you can "do something" whatever...

man, I won both BF'42 and Generals.I love BF, not because of the mere concept, but just because it's such an awesome game.Yes, EA are VERY unsupportive of their games (its their ego see, they've spent the last 10 years releasing sports games,and these sports games get good reviews, thus they think their games are perfect on release)BF '42 has had a couple of patchs released, manily just to fix the stupid AI and some other bugs.The only bug I've ever found in BF so far is clipping. Dead bodies can be driven into the ground and such, but besides that, I can't really think of any.As for Generals though...ugh...the game is bug ridden, lag runs around as freely as children, and the ai is stupid.Ea did release a patch before R2R was released btw (btw=by the way)and please, if you ever wanna buy a good game, and come across BF1942, don't let this post discourage you from buying it.Generals on the other hand, well, I can say that the only RTS I'm looking foward to is Starcraft2 (and they've yet to announce that, but they will, I know they will, they must)

ya, I especially hate when you exit one, then you're about to click something on the screen and another pops up right in front of ur cursor and u click on it by mistake and it sends you to the website where u get more pop ups!OMG!
