I remember watching this on HBO. Love his HBO specials. I kinda imagine you as George. It makes conversations interesting to say the least hahaha.

Played with the original group Sunday. It was great nailed down a couple and apparently I made the grade as I am now included in the planning group to pick out songs to round out the set list etc. Meeting the main guy for the other group after work for a cold beer and tomake sue neither one of us are a-holes. I mean we all know I am but mainly to see if our A-holeisness can coexist hahaha. Given a good meeting tonight and providing he's not a serial killer and I make home first practice with them is Thursday where I get to play classic hard rock and metal not jazzy tunes. Probably gonna play with both providing not a lot of scheduling conflicts. Given i've never actually performed with a band, outside of high school band, this is one hell of a learning experience and I'm getting a LOT better with timing and transitions etc.

I'm down with giving it a try.

looks like a LOT of the game will be missing at launch. I was concerned that I would not have time to practice music and play BF5. Looks like this issue I had may work itself out sadly. I was kinda looking forward to neglecting my music a little.

Just got pinged on messenger by a guy who is a member of one of the local musician Facebook groups asking me if I'd like to try out for his band as a bass player. I mean WFT over? This is gettin kinda crazy lol and I still haven't played a gig yet hahaha. Gotta say the first group is with a good buddy of mine . I dont know any of these guys but they play more rock and harder stuff which is more in lone with what I tend to like to play. Maybe I can do both hahaha.

When i heard they are moving Ali How Soon ™ over to BF5 I pretty much gave up on anything resembling a working rentable server existing in the game. I hold out hope but realistically hes the one who spouted off about how he ran a server and knew exactly what was needed and how he was gonna build a better server experience. We see how well that worked out right?

Yeah it did seem a bit jittery but that is alpha footage so i expect a bit of refinement to be absent. That said I do enjoy a modernish shooter a lot more than a historical one. This seems very close to BF4 in its play. Now all they gotta do is have servers and refine the end product a bit more.

What do they expect? I swear news guys just dont put in the legwork any more. The company is offering pre-orders on one of their core games as well as saying hey you can sign up for this for 100 bucks a month, slightly more than the cost of BF1 plus Premium, and have access to pretty much any game you want to play for a friggin year. Don't like BF5 no worries uninstall and load up something different. OF COURSE pre orders are gonna be down. It doesn't make fiscal sense to spend aproximately the same amount, depending on version, for one game. Sometimes the intelligence of some people's kids astounds me. Maybe I'm just gettin old and cranky.

Not that much different that the Commander missile strike in BF4 actually only squad leaders can call it , no commander... , and honestly it takes a LOOOOT to gain 40k points. You won't see these flying too often. If I'm not mistaken you get some form of warning as in BF4 when its inbound and you are in the damage zone. Also proning behind cover mitigates a lot of the damage or is supposed to.

Mackie Studio Monitors up top , Polk Audio powered 10" sub down below. Damn thing sounds better than my full rack system in the living room. After playing with it this weekend I may go ahead and change over to an analog Mackie 8 channel mixer and replace the USB connected one sitting beside the recording PC under the big monitor.

Welp... Practice went well. Seems I was too worried about stuff cause amazingly I was the one who screwed up the least and I'm the new guy with decades less experience. Hooray for being prepared! Got home and since I was feeling pretty good about everything I went ahead and started getting the home recording studio configured. I give you the NetRngr Digital Audio Workcenter! This weekend will see me in full on, in depth, practice mode with the full band. Much to my wife's consternation, I will be eating, sleeping, etc there so I will leave Friday afternoon and she will see me Sunday afternoon when I return. She is becoming quite displeased with my mid life crisis. Told her at least I haven't bought a sports car and started chasing 25 yr olds. She informed me i could not catch a 25 yr old . I told her that's what the sports car was for. The stink eye was strong with her that day.
