  1. I dont know if I ever purchased the game or if I even have it installed any more. I know I played it a bit and it shows up on my list @ Ubi but That may have just been beta stuff. dunno.
  2. Well if DICE was "smart" they would put him in charge of setting up the console for the rented servers. Honestly if the servers had what we wanted they would make a killing on them. There were clans with 3-5 servers in BF1 and the server options sucked. Im all for inexpensive servers but if you can't change the settings from official and have them listed its worthless. How they implemented rentable servers without an autorenue feature still astounds me. Its not like its a complex operation and since they have the Origin/EA access service it would be a simple matter to tie it to that and have it bill right through the system as any other service. IMHO it was the delay in servers that caused the whole thing. They did not do concurrent development and when the masses lost their collective shit they tried to rush out a hacked together console server which pissed even more people off. As I stated several times we would have rather waited a bit longer and got something good and well tested.
  3. I do have to say that the more actual gameplay footage I see it seems like a mashup of a BF4 Classic Mode server and BF1. I mean private servers are great if done well. "Official" servers have never really been my thing due to the asshat factor but the shift to scarcity and limited health on revive / and all the other Ammo 2.0 like mechanics has me pretty intrigued. I think it's a great move on their part. That said I doubt the casuals will like it and it may affect their willingness to follow through with it in future games. As the RSP server are just at the bare minimum requirements, well mostly, as long as the START with these features, the ability to actually bounce your server if need be, and a working server browser that actually works like it should then I think it will be a solid starting point. I dont have issues with DICE/EA servers VS 3rd party. The issue I have is with the options available to the owners/admins. I think that's the crux of the whole thing. People keep saying bring back 3rd party servers and what they really want is PROCON and the plugins. Seeing as the PROCON dev is new a DICE/EA employee it a pretty safe bet that that boat has sailed. Unless someone comes up with a new console its a done deal and since DICE/EA aren't releasing APIs with the recent titles its just not gonna happen.
  4. Nahh... we won't hahahahah. We REALLY need a game that grabs everyone. I really miss shooting and being shot by you degenerates.
  5. I absolutely despise auto repair/healing on all levels I mean WTF Ok after watching the video that seems pretty balanced esp with having to return to base to reload/fully repair. Im good with this. I mean it would be super nice if it were similar to War Thunder where you had to land to reload/repair but this will do hahah.
  6. Humm depends on what games are out at what times. For instance, I am curious about Anthem but can't see myself dropping a full game price on it just to check it out. I'm hopeful about BFV and there are several games I've been meaning to try but it would need to be a perfect storm of everything coming together to make it worth the monthly charge. Besides I have limited time to play games and when I do I've been drawn back to Rocksmith / RS Remastered simply because I love music and playing instruments. If they dont hose us really hard with BFV even that may suffer. I'm a sad puppy but in a good way.
  7. The metal "phalanges" / hooks are spring loaded to give a sort of grip. Those are the torsion springs. Similar to this: http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/58793000/jpg/_58793447_14.jpg
  8. Well the prosthetic arm is period accurate, women, especially if with the French Resistance, did fight a goodly bit, and I supposed that any weapon in a pinch will work. I mean I've brained my fair share of guys with a flippin frying pan so yeah What I have issues with is anyone missing limbs being effective in a combat role. That pushes the envelope on reality more than anything else for me.
  9. Dunno I kinda dig the realistic weather effects.
  10. Damnit they are doing their best to make me buy this thing. I haven't caved just yet though. The gameplay does look a LOT like a classic mode which IMHO is a good thing but for clans and communities the quality of the servers if they have them will be a big deal. What we had in BF1 was just not even close to enough or what was to be expected from a BF title.

I have noticed that I am getting cynical in my old age when it comes to my entertainment. I have decided to keep an open mind and give things a fair shake before becoming negative... welp that was nice.. back to being cynical.

I'm holding out hope that BF V will be awesome with everything we ever wanted. Buwahahahaha Who the hell am I kidding....
  13. SOON™ . Get it right sonny! Hey at least I have not see Ali Hassoons name associated with it at all. +1. That dude told more lies than a 4 yr old caught stealing cookies.
  14. Uhhh nope. Fortnite surpasses PUBG in monthly revenue with $126 million in February sales - The Verge WWW.THEVERGE.COM The free-to-play survival shooter is raking in cash from in-app purchases In April Fortnight pulled in 300mil in transactions for skins and emotes etc. Epic has been making games a lot longer than BlueHole / PUBG Corp and honestly since they designed the engine both use have a leg up on making it work well. I love PUBG when its working and not over run with hacks, which to say, isn't the experience recently. Fortnight just works and plays exceedingly well.
  15. It has lost a lot of players to Fortnite, unfortunately for them it's their own fault for allowing the cheating, skins trading/farming, poor netcode etc etc. Now they are suing the Korean Epic branch. IMHO I'm guessing it's because suing the US branch would be problematic given the quote below from Brendan "Player Unkown" Greene: Both of those quotes from the guy who created the whole Battle Royale deal and PUBG in particular could be problematic in US based courts which is exactly why they are filing against the Korean branch in Korea. Shopping for a sympathetic court ya know. I played several rounds of PUBG recently and while it has gotten better there is still a LOT of low hanging fruit. That said the games play completely different and share no real similarities other than is a 100 player free for all. PUBG weapons require a modicum of skill to use where as all but the sniper rifles in Fortnite are hitscan weapons. There is no bloom in PUBG to worry about, inventory space in PUBG is limited where as Fortnight you can heft around an armory worth of ammo should you feel like it. If PUBG development would listen to the legitimate concerns of those providing feedback and address the main issues with the game they would have nothing to worry about but like so many development teams they do not. I quit playing mainly because the high ping players would warp all over the screen, you can shoot them and see blood spray yet they take no damage and they one shot you. The cheaters in PUBG is another main reason. I cant count the times I was shot from accross the map by a guy with a name in Chinese. Institute ping limits / region lock server and get a handle on your code so that cheats are not prevalent and you should be in a fine spot to compete. Fortnite being free to play also helps it a LOT.
  16. Surprisingly the same as BF1 .. /sarcasm
  17. I have to say some of the things they have talked about so far seem pretty damned decent. It appears that they are moving BF towards a more mil-sim style of play which IMHO would be a good thing. Having to make tactical choices in a shooter makes game play so much better of an experience than a spray and pray type game. One of the things I enjoyed a lot about BF4 HC mode and classic to an extent was the ability to turn off Vehicle / Personnel Health regen. You had to repair(from outside the vehicle mind you) or get to a health kit to get health back. Ammo was the same which made you manage your resources closely. I like the idea of scarcity when it comes to ammo etc. I was a big proponent of that aspect in the Ammo 2.0 work they did in the CTE. I only went on a tirade when they announced the magically appearing grenades. I am hoping that in BF5 they take what we gave them to heart and do it right. IMHO when you die and respawn you really should come in with minimal health and only basic ammo, say oh 1/3 of what you would normally get and by that I mean bullets only. You want nades etc you have to get to a crate. You wanna get healed better find a medic. I am all about having the support classes matter and the game itself force players to play those classes correctly. Stupid things like achievements forcing medics to get rifle grenade kills which removes either the revive ability or the healing ability were exceedingly poor game design choices from the beginning and as much as I tried to explain to the developers that medics are not front line combat troops and this is the reason they didnt need rifle grenades and semi sniper weapons didn't really sink in. I guess this is what you get when the design team has never actually had military experience. If the new game mode is a good mix between HC and normal mode I will be ok with this. Basically what I've heard thus far is they are making the core gamemode the Classic mode. That would be awesome. Honestly if the core gameplay is 99% Classic mode then meh on RSP. It was a complete joke in BF1 and unless they have had whats his face programming the management shell non stop it will not be any better. The private servers only gave us the ability to control game functions, Guarantee we could all play together, and remove toxic players. If a good medium can be had game mode wise and they actually follow their ToS the only thing I would miss at that point would be having the ability to load up and kill / be killed by you degenerates. Still haven't gotten enough info to pre-order anything yet but will be interested to see what they can come up with.
  18. And will eliminate a LOT of the cheats and make the ones still there detectable. +1
  19. Oh and one more thing Support and Medic players will matter because the awesomeness that was Ammo 2.0 has returned in this BF and auto heath and ammo regen is as dead as a frog on the highway during rush hr. I'm tempted to pre order this just to say thanks for removing the magic bullets and health from the game. Its almost like the main mode will be HC Mode. *GASP* Say it ain't so Jimmy. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point. As stated before dedicated servers will be the big thing as far as clans / communities go if for no other reason than to deal with the omnipresent a-hole.
  20. From what I've seen/heard from various Game Changers is sounds like the combat is going to be more like PUBG instead of say BF4. That would be a pretty nice change IMHO. Also resource scarcity, etc will add a lot of realism to the game.
  21. I gotta say there is a lot of neat stuff being added and sounds like it would be a blast to play as it seems much more realistic. That said Not sure I would foot for it if they dont have some sort of dedicated server support that is worth the charge for it and has the tools needed at launch. Edit: By at Launch I mean the launch of the servers. Working server browser, modes etc. Listening to the "live service" stuff though sounds like they are gonna nix servers all together but who knows.
  22. Yeah that was kind of underwhelming to say the least. Some neat stuff in there but will need to see more. MIGHT spring for a month of EA Access to check out the beta if they do the same as BF1
  23. Should have given up on it after the initial beta phase. They may actually have saved some credibility but you know. Phat Lewts Yo!!
  24. Meh the era/skins dont make a crap for me. They have some glaring issues that were never resolved in BF1 which we can pretty much guarantee will move to BF5 and if they follow suit the ones we got fixed /mitigated in BF1 will show right back up in BF5. That and the attitude they have had on private servers and modes leaves me kinda cold on this one which is sad. Even though I gave up on it being great, I did buy BF1 and the Premium. If a LOT of stuff isn't addressed, which I highly doubt it will be, This will be the first BF title that I do not buy since BF2. If I wasn't at work I would go have a drink cause that's just damned depressing.
