Testing them on music right now. I also got a usb soundcard that actualy sounds quite nice (haven't tried it on some of my games yet) but for music this is sounding great. Very good base and sound quality. Going to test in CS source in a couple, will edit with how it is . So far I like.

In Need of a New Addiction
Hmm... to be honest I haven't gotten to do too much research on it. I've been using www.mmorpg.com a lot to find some mmo's that interest me. From what I know is that the game is completly skill driven, not class driven. So you level up what skills you want to. On the good/bad guy note, from what I've seen I don't think there are opposing races, generaly i'm sure everyone just starts off on the same island. (hopefully it won't be the same boring isle eq2 has. First time, it's fine. Second... agh). Race i'll look into a lot tomorrow. ps: I think I've maybe made more posts than Klink/Tigerhawk in one post. Maybe.... edit: SD is my dads legal residence (military ftw) so I get in-state tuition there lol. 2nd edit: got a reply from someone who plays the game, it seems PvP isn't very big at all in that game. He even said that sometimes people who get PvP dual invites will just put the person on ignore and just not group with them ever. . I'll try it tomorrow anyways LOL.

In Need of a New Addiction
Yeah i'm 17, good thing I am still in my parents house. Going out to South dakota (a ways away from Washington DC ) and i'll be living on my own in a dorm then. Once I get enough money / ect. i'll have my own apartment / house . Like i said, living the last couple months of complete 'independance' .

In Need of a New Addiction
Heh alright. If i'm still playing it by then i'll tell you, LOL. Ah the joy of just getting out of high-school. At the moment I'm currently enjoying (quite much by the way) my last summer and few months of not having a job ever. Until I like retire or something.

In Need of a New Addiction
Well, the trial (which is free for ever) is. However, the trial all revloves around the island, and you can't go to the "mainland". I think I heard you can get all 50's in skills there (I think that the max skill level is 100) So it would be enough to realy judge what you would like and dislike about the game. I don't know, i'm trying it because realy I have nothing else to try =P. God only knows i'm not going to WoW. @ Gator: lets see a tank take one of them on, eh? hehe .

In Need of a New Addiction
Me and Xorcon tried playing CoV for a little bit. (the trial). We realy played it for a few hours, and at first we were realy getting into it. (we both made some of the most evil characters ever created. Super emos.) Anyways, I found the game fun, and combat was nice (Found it funny with my flying skill I could fly up very high and just cast my special attacks from up there. No one could touch me LOL). However, like you said it just had no depth, at all. IMO it should have just been stuck to no monthly fee like Guild wars, 95% of the game is instances lol. I haven't tried AO yet, dunno why but everytime I start to download it i'm like "nah.. don't feel like messing with it". EVE Online was easily the most in depth game I had ever played. However, even though I loved the idea of open PvP and in general loved the game, the way you got xp I just started to hate. (you gain xp in real time, not by actualy doing anything. Most stuff you just buy the skills and wait for them to level). It was fine when my first skill took 2 hours to level so I could Pilot the ship I just got. I was a bit more furrious when one of my higher level skills took 2 days to level. I just didn't like time being the factor (literaly) for everything. And not how long you played, just time in general. An older player will (always) have more skill points than you. edit: if you find a good game let me know .

In Need of a New Addiction
I'm a bit in the same boat as you at the moment snc. I'm done with EQ2 right now (it just doesn't feel like any fun. At all) and am trying to find a game to play untill Age of Conan comes out. Also, Gator you'd be suprised how 'sissy' RPG's are when your facing a 100 ton dragon 40 feet high =P. edit: btw, i'm going to be trying the saga of ryzom tomorrow. God only knows what i'm going to expect (i'm not expecting too much... but we will see. :/) www.ryzom.com double edit: i'd try the fps thing, but I play too much durring a day. FPS's I can usualy play for a couple of hours untill they get either dead boring or make me angry as hell.

Age of Conan
www.ageofconan.com I have been getting more and more into this game ever since I heard it was comming out. (Slanted for Q4 2006). Anyways, what is age of conan? Well, it's an MMO set around the books. It's a gritty world, where there is no chivalry, and there isn't any safe places to be. More so, it is very action oreinted, and is being made by funcom (the makers of Anarchy Online). So, a few quotes explaining some of the (real freaking cool) aspects of the game: Basicly said, the first part of the game will be an engaging single player story line, and then the actual 'meat' of the game will be an MMO. They are saying that the world of conan is a dark one, and they aren't going to make this all cute and nice. It's a gritty world, and the game makes it out to be one. sieges! Even better, you can actualy build castles and citys while the enemy builds theres (in real time). At any moment the enemy (or you) could strike. The game uses a new engine geared towards a faster paced game. Basicly if you have a sword, where you swing with your mouse is where you will swing with your sword. Also, the game is slanted to have PvP (no real details about it yet though.) Overall, it's looking great. a few screenshots of the game: http://ageofconan.com/conan/media/screenshots/screenshot0016.jpg http://ageofconan.com/conan/media/screenshots/screenshot0003.jpg http://ageofconan.com/conan/media/screenshots/screenshot0008.jpg Anyways, i'm planning on getting it on release (unless it somehow turns out bad. Realy doubt it though). I'll actually have an MMO where I can get the jump on things. Also, another cool note, magic. Magic in conan's world is much more dangerous. For example, your spell could backfire on you depending on how powerful you try to weave your spell (weaving spells: you can bassicly add on effects into the spell, more damage, debuffs, ect. But at the price of a longer, harder cast and much more chance of failing against you.) So, has anyone else been keeping up with this game? ps: copy/pasted from the thread I did on another forums I regulate. Thought some of you might be interested

Cool stats from valve for HL2:E1
Yeah agreed, 20$ is 20$ :o . For about the price of a decent movie you can get double the value out of it (considering avg. movie is like... 2 hours or so ). And it helps you move foward in the Half life 2 storyline. I would have paid 20$ just for that, lol.

Cool stats from valve for HL2:E1
Lost coast is just a tech demo, nothing special realy. I thought episode 1 was well worth it. It's only about 5 hours of gameplay, but its 5 hours of realy good gameplay .

Cool stats from valve for HL2:E1
http://www.steampowered.com/stats/ep1/ Thought it was interesting . They basicly could track all sorts of things, such as how many deaths on a certain level on average, and how long it took to beat on average. Very cool.

lol if I was a grandpa I'd walk around the mall and let my phone go off, and have it the loudest volume with that. All the teens would go crazy, hah! Little whipper-snappers XD.
